| Hi all, The GF and I recently took up golf lessons from Joey@Keppel. Going to take our PC next Monday and looking forward to games on courses. Bought my first set of clubs (R7 irons + Driver) and the GF's irons (Cobra SS-I) from Marketplace. Special thanks to the sellers who have had to "endure" my noob questions and futile bargaining. Calling for khakis who have just completed PC, please feel free to jio us to get lost on the course. Btw I do have the Amex Plat Reserve card, so for those who also have this card, appreciate any advice from bros/sis to best utilize it's golf privileges... Cheers and see u guys around. Ray | |

In Singapore, depending on where you get your PC. In Malaysia and Indonesia, there are numerous golf courses we can play without PC.

| there are plenty of golf courses in Johor that does not even require a pc. go play on a lazy sunday afternoon where there is less of a crowd and you won't hold up play (and sunday afternoon, green fees are cheaper). example of golf course tanjong puteri, palm villa, pulai springs, legends ,orchard @(kulai)to name a few.
join the month GR games on a sunday afternoon in JB.

| Hmm mine confirm can go to mbgc and occ. Actually as much as most people will say we can go JB or other place to play but some of us may not have the time to go up weekly. I'll just stick to where i can and get my handicap. Afterall i dun think will be able to appreciate new courses with my newbie strokes | |

| If you are not too sure where can or cannot play in JB, booking through an agent in Singapore is the easiest way to find out, and less hassle as well. Just one sms or call to check if PC is needed.
In truth folks, a PC is no big deal and doesn't mean a thing except money to the course where you took it from. I'm not sure about the par 3 short courses since I haven't played them. Ever wonder why your PC gets you only on that particular course where you took it from, yet is hardly recognised, if at all, anywhere else?
The bare facts are this. In Singapore, to play as a walk in or guest, practically all member clubs requires you to produce a valid handicap card. The only way around it is if you play in a corporate tournament where the onus is on the organiser to check your handicap. Or more correctly, politely ask you in the e-mail to state your handicap. Many who don't have still end playing.
The exception to the handicap card requirement is Marina Bay Golf Club, a public course where you just pay $10 to take a swing test showing that you can decently hit the ball. The slip is valid for a month meaning you don't have to take another swing test should you want to play MBGC within the same month.
In JB, Batam, or Bintan, it's all pay and play. There are one or two exceptions of which I'm not sure.
I'll leave to the other brothers and sisters to mention which are the ones that need a valid handicap.

Thanks Birdman! This makes the PC/Handicap requirement so much clearer.

Tink he saying can play at NSRCC executive course but... 18 hole like cannot lei... so still thinking PC like quite useless... To add on, I'd just played the Par 3 Exec course @ NSRCC on Tue. M in the midst of taking lessons and hence no PC. As usual, need to take a swing test and its FOC NSRCC will then issue you a 'card' which will be valid for 6months.
