S'pore, M'sia leaders to meet again in 3 months to finalise decision on land swap

SINGAPORE: The Prime Ministers of Singapore and Malaysia are to meet again in three months time after Hari Raya to finalise a decision on a land swap.

This was announced at a news conference by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his Malaysian counterpart Najib Razak on Tuesday.

Mr Lee is in Kuala Lumpur on a one-day working visit to follow up on discussions the two leaders had at their retreat in Singapore last month.

It was announced at the retreat in May that three land parcels in Tanjong Pagar, Kranji and Woodlands and three additional pieces of land in Bukit Timah could be swapped on the basis of equivalent value for pieces of land in Marina South and in the Ophir-Rochor area.

This follows the announcement that the KTM railway station at Tanjong Pagar will move to the Woodlands Train checkpoint by 1 July 2011.

The leaders also announced that both countries will reduce toll charges on the second link by 30 per cent from August 1.

Is someone thinking straight? IF SG garmen is doing this, that could mean the land prices will go up in TP,Kranji and BT liao.......hmmmm idea!!!
