ERP rates increase 20-100%
Mon, Apr 26, 2010 AsiaOne
IT will be costlier to use the roads as ERP (Electronic Road Pricing) rates for four gantries are set to increase from 20-100 per cent.
From May 3 onwards, motorists have to pay $3 instead of $2.50 when passing the two gantries at ECP (Fort Road) and KPE slip road to ECP during 8.30-9.30am. This is an increase of 20 per cent.
Motorists passing through the two ERP gantries at PIE Adam Road and Mount Pleasant will have to fork out $2 from 8-8.30am (for Adam Road) and 8.30-9am (for Mount Pleasant), a rise of 100 per cent and 33 per cent respectively.
However, rates at two gantries will be reduced.
Passing through the CTE gantry that is north of Braddell Road will be cheaper. The rate from 7.30-8am has been decreased from $2.50 to $2, a reduction of 20 per cent.
The westbound PIE gantry before Eunos Link will be free-of-charge from 7-7.30am.
ERP rates are usually revised when the Land Transport Authority completes its quarterly review of traffic conditions on EPR-priced roads and expressways.
The next ERP review will take place in May for the June school holidays.

| The ERP rates @ ECP Fort Road and slip road from KPE is increased due to crowded traffic. However traffic there is crowded due to poor design of entrance and exit for expressway. Just visualise this scenario : 1) Cars are entering ECP from KPE 2) Within less than a km, cars are exiting ECP to Rochor Road / Suntec City. After this stretch, the traffic is usually crowded but smooth. | |

| Loser!!!!! Can't solve the traffic conditions and make use of the chance to make more $$$ instead. Increasing the ERP rates doesn't help at all. Increase the rates at Adams Road by 100%, now you see everyone exiting at Eng Neo Ave and jam up the road all the way from PIE. Looks like these people doesn't understand the most basic principles of river water flow. See how talented they are.. haiiz.... | |

| ERP to control the traffic ? Rubbish.
One big bad example is Shenton Way ERP. Never seen heavy traffic there, and yet they erect ERP there.

| I have heard many said that GOLF is like Life.....LIFE is like GOLF
so...don worry, we all can learn fm GOLF.....coz in GOLF, many yearn to play with the best of the best-est..
Same here with ERP and many more....the intent is to increase the cost of living.....this is so that we can attract the best Talent and wealth....becos many of these people, want to be where its most expensive.....
See the similarity? See how we are like aspiring PGA tour players?
