Just wondering if anyone has ever used their amex cards for the following benefits which comes with the card:

IIRC, the complimentary golf involves you bringing along 2 paying guest members though.

In fact, nearly every Platinum Visa Card offers the same golf privileges. Bring 2 full paying guest and you can get free green fees. Just call OAAG.

Hi Agnes, it is a locally issued AMEX platinum card. It has a whole host of freebies. However, the annual fee of $300 is a drawback. The max they can do is to reduce it to $150. It is not free. IMHO you need to golf quite regularly at those clubs to "cover" back the annual fees. Else it is not worth it.

UOB Infinti Visa card programme has reduced fees for cardholders at Keppel CC & Raffles CC -- also other courses IN Malaysia, Thailand, PRC, Taiwain, Indonesia & Vietnam.

Cardholder can even invite three guests weekdays & weekends.

Again like I said, are you able to get 2 golfers who is willing to pay the full price when you have to pay only the buggy and maybe caddy fees??

Clarence, read the terms and conditions before trying to use the card. TWO FULL PAYING guests first then you are entitled to play under their terms.

Tons of dining benefits with Amex that are quite good.

The $300 also covers the cost of the "Free" Feed @ Raffles Card that they issue with every AMEX platinum card. Which is probably a reason why they refuse to waive their annual fee because if they do, no one will buy the Feed @ Raffles Card anymore.

The Feed @ Raffles Card gives you 50% discount at most of the REALLY expensive restaurants in Swissotel like Jaan, Inagiku.. a meal for 2 there can cost $300+++ (before discount), so if you are a fine-cuisine foodie, 2 such meals and you can cover your $300 annual fee.

Oh and if you bring a date to Jaan, full course or degustation, with wine..... the savings on that one date can more than cover the annual fee.

Am not sure about the other benefits, but there's no more complimentary driving range balls at Jurong Country Club the last time i went there. About 2-3months ago.

Amex platinum card golfing privileges for SG courses

For all weekdays, card holder plays free with 1 paying guest (except for Warren, 2 paying guests). For all weekends, card holder plays free with 2 paying guests (except for Warren, 3 paying guests).

All bookings to be done minimum 4-days in advance (weekday) or 7-days in advance (weekend), but not more than 14 days before.

- Buggy fee (card holder): $24 (weekday) / $39 (weekend)

the benefits of the maybank world mastercard are more interesting because you do not need guest. 2 card holders is enough.
