is it advisable to cut driver shaft?

thanks alot, learnt alot about fitting now!

shall try to play with my driver more, then maybe go club fitter one of these days

my drivers are 45.5" and i grip it lower 1".

Maybe it promotes proper release, since any failure to roll over your hands through impact will result in chafed wrists.

tried my new driver.. anyway this was my side view swing video.. i know cant see much.. maybe can just see how short I am..!

For me, a shorter driver give me more confident to whack. I have used a 43.5" driver, a 44.5", 45" and 46" driver, 43.5" give me the best control but the least distace. 45" is the most balance of all the other. I don't prefer 46" as I can't control it.
Kooky, you have a nice swing with solid impact. Just curious, is that hit a fade?

Some ppl short, other ppl shorter...

If you can hit a good shot everytime with ur current driver than my suggestion would be, maintain the driver shaft. If not, do visit ur golf fitter for Pro advise.
Do concentrate more on your short game & putting !

Umm ... that is what I meant, by deck I mean floor, fairway, rough, basically not on a tee.

The comparison is against using a driver where the ball sitting on a tee.

Unless my understanding of deck has been wrong all this while ...

hi jimmy. sorry about that. thank you for ur advise.

yesterday was my first time trying out my driver and due to time constraints did not play too much with it, as much as I liked, by the time i got my swing warmed up. ( SLICES!! ) That particular shot was a slight fade.. but so far my shots yesterday were mostly (very) high slight fade.. come to think of it, there was seldom a slight draw the whole of last night. Again I did not have much time to play around, as my last driver (burner) was S flex and I tee very high. I will try to tee lower the next session to see if I can lower the flight and gain more distance.. this stock shaft is a R flex with a high torque (5 deg)..

as for club fitting, I always have the feeling that my swing is not good enough, and is not the equipment. hence i tend to shun swing analysis by club fitters.

anyway, my new driver, in case anyone is wondering, is the sq dymo bought from lukewa. maybe the sound u all can recognise liao.

TW during 2003 was using a 43.5inch driver click here

But is now using a 45inch shaft length.
