Any GRian here gaming with a 44.5" & below driver?

1. Do u see a reduce in distance or instead better?
2. What swing weight?
3. What head weight?
4. Better dispersion?

Asking all these bcos most PGA tour players are gaming with shorter & stiffer aftermarket shaft than those commercially sold off the shaft driver.

Please share ur experience....

brother willy just sharing my experience,
I started with a 45"inch di6x shaft, cut down to 44.5".
and took a di7x shaft from 44"inch to 43.5".
found most consistent performance at 44.5" out of the 4 options.
no loss of distance but gained in accuracy and shot shaping, with all things equal(hitting center) launch was lower with heavier shaft so i lofted up.
i wanted to eliminate all other factors and focus more on overall club weight, try to keep it around 300-330grams depending on your swing speed, lower swing speed, lighter club.

Experimented sometime ago with my Diamana W60S at 45.25 which was what I used to play for many years and brought it down to 44.75 length and i lost about 15m in carry distance.

Smash factor was consistent but spin rate went up a bit.

Overall the shorter driver was slightly easier to manage but I felt it was not worth it because of the distance loss.

Just sharing what i did in the past.

Anyway, I'm back to playing a 45.25 driver.

Cheers

Guys, thanks for ur sharing and those kind bros who PMed me with ur advices.

I used to game with 45" driver for almost 2yrs but was inconsistent with my swing (must be due to my itchy backside of changing clubs), but have been using the same driver for almost 9mths with limited consistency to keep it on the fw until I decided to go stiffer and shorter (44.5") on my spare driver for a change.

I have been trying it out at the range few rounds and only gamed it twice on the course with better fw accuracy and no reduction in carry. Will give it a go for another 2-3 games before coming to an conclusion.

Will keep everyone update....
