| taken from golf to impress website.. with R.I.P shaft for US release!!!!! sure to fly off the racks.... with SuperTri the "more forgiving" driver, where does that leave the SuperFast? The "cheap" version? ppl already branding it the next coming of the 510TP (one of the all time favorites) Japan golf shows looks really cool...The Iomic grips also looks great | |

| Look at the R7 range...
r7 r7 Quad r7 Quah HT r7 425 r7 460 r7 Draw r7 SuperQuad r7 Limited r7 CGB
Not forgetting the TP series for most of them?
It has been TM's style all this while...
Above range was released in a span on 5 to 6 years?

| Maybe, we shud not confuse ourselves as I do understand that for Jap and US market, the head may be eth same but just different name eg R9460 is the same as R9 max, one US spec, one Asian spec.
Thus for R9 Super tri could be the same as R9 Super Deep, US vs JPN,
Correct me if I am wrong | |

| i think all the versions serve different markets and different functions..
but they have always been like that. come out new models very fast.
Thats why the resale value drop very fast... hahaha
been trying not to get the R9....
anyway, the SHAFT of the driver really makes most of the difference.. the head plays a limited part of the driver...

One player might suit a certain type of head-shaft combo better than the others. Having said that, every equipment has different purspose for different target market. TM understands this well, thus the 'short product cycle'. However, to me, it is not a short product cycle. It simple is a case of filling in the market segment so that their product could meet the demand of every type of players out there.

Correct me if I am wrong The main difference between the Japanese market products and the US market are the shafts. US market tend to get stronger shafts due to the type of players they cater over there. As for the head, I believe the Japanese heads are sometimes hotter that the US equivalent head. The Japanese are not bound by a ceratin rule limiting the COR. Thus, more variety due to less-strict design limitation. Supertri is made for mere mortals, high-launch and easy to hit kind of club head. The Superdeep, on the other hand, is better geared for the better players. Player who launch it high and generate a lot of spin. I got a friend, who happens to be involved in the US PGA Tour events, tried out the Superdeep at a PGA event a while back. He is a single-digit handicappers and a great ball-striker. His general comment on the Superdeep: it is hard to launch the ball. He swears that the Supertri is a much better clubs for us, mere mortals... Just my 2-cents...
