| Hi, I own a set of Nike VR blades , comes with NS PRo 950GH Sitff flex. Somehow I find the shaft a bit 'dead' which could be due to my slower swing speed. I would like to ask what other shaft (and flex) whcih you had used with the Nike VR blades and would like to recommend ? I am considering reshafting to the NS Pro 950GH Reg flex but would like to hear your feedback first. Many Thanks ! | |

| Are you using graphite or steel shaft before this set ?
If you are using graphite, then, I think is is quite normal to feel this way due to the way you hit the ball is different plus the fact of the shaft is stiff..
Or you had just change to this blades recently and was playing with game improvement set previously ?

| What's your swing speed?
In my case, if I had a set of Nike VR blades, I'll have the shafted with KBS Tour stiff, but that's just me.

| I think my swing speed is in the 80s. Currently using another blade set with KBS Tour 90. So far this set is handling pretty well. Therefore I just wanted to ask around to see if there are any other shafts I should also consider. Thanks | |

| To be honest, hard to say until you try it out. A good fitter will put you on a launch monitor with one of your irons with the current shaft, gather data, then fit a shaft onto that iron, and put you back on the launch monitor to gather data. An experienced fitter will put you through less trial and error and will ask you pertinent questions regarding your goal -- do you want more distance or accuracy? If you had to pick one, which would it be? Do you have a budget? (e.g. certain graphite shafts may give you more distance and accuracy, but may be more expensive than steel alternatives). Feel may also play an important part in your decision. In my case, between Project X and KBS, I prefer the feel of KBS shafts, and am prepared to pay a bit more if distance and accuracy is close. | |

| Hi ghoonk, thanks for your feedback. Are you suggesting that KBS is a better shaft and provides both distance and accuracy ? What are your opinions regarding KBS Tour 90 and KBS Tour ?
Thanks | |

| No, I'm not suggesting that the KBS is a better shaft for you. I'm just saying that you won't know till you try out different combinations and be able to get cold hard data -- just cos a shaft feels good doesn't mean that it gives you the best distance and accuracy.
I was quite surprised to find that despite my preference for 'softer' shafts, I get best distance and accuracy from a TP Diamana Whiteboard 63 in X flex.

| Hi Turbo, what I meant is that I could not feel the flex during the downswing. At times resulting in topping the ball. | |

In that case, either u are not used to the stiffness of the shaft or your swing speed is too slow to handle stiff shaft. If you hit the sweet spot, you should feel "light" and like "Butter Feel" ... The feedback is directly channel to your hands for bladed irons ... THats why I like to use blade irons ...

| For a swing speed in the 80's your shaft could be too stiff. What you should do is to look into the cpm of the shafts that you want to get otherwise at impact point your club head is lagging too far behind your ball and more often than not your shots goes right! | |

| I am on KBS tour 90 with VR semi cavities. I think if you are not playing as often as you should be (maybe less than 2 games per month) and you prefer a 90g shaft, KBS 90 is very very good! And yes, I am won over by the KBS!!!!! - ghoonk wrote:

| Hello there! I own a regular flex (NS pro, Steel shafts) TW blades and have been experiencing draw shots. Before you make a decision to have it re-shafted, would you fancy giving it a try on the regulars? My fitting session tells me that I should be going for a stiffer than regular flex. What say you of an exchange if the regular flex suits you? | |

If the shafts are not stiff enough, does it cause draw shots?

| Hi Ssquirrel,
I really have no idea how that works in the technical terms. Have been told during the fitting that the stiff flex would suit me better and here I am on the hunt for a stiff flex set of irons. That of course, taking out the equation totally on lie angles, shaft lengths, grip size etc. And yah, what a fit to a tee if you were to ask me. Someone has a stiff flex looking to reshaft his irons!

I always wonder if KBS tour shaft really more superior than DG or Rifle Proj-X shaft. I know it is damn light but how about the ball trajectory? I never like NSPRo shaft as my ball tends to balloon too high. I am currently using DG S300.
