| Yes, they can rust if not taken care of. After a round, make a point to wipe down and dry your clubs, from driver to putter. Douse a rag with Singer oil and wipe down the heads and shafts, leaving a thin coat that will help protect it from rust. | |

| i am currently using calloway big bertha (1 series earlier than 2009). like the feel and a very forgiving club face design. Also tried playing with my friend's titliest. heavier but cannot control the club during the down swing and follow through. think will stick to my big bertha graphite. | |

| Hey guys any recommendations on where to get club fittings?
I was just wondering how can one get to know what shaft flex suits them more?

| These days, I get all my clubwork done at Big Fish Golf. Eric aka DGman runs the place and is probably the most knowledgeable fitter I know, and he's always on the lookout to learn more, not only through professional sources, but also through his customers.
BFG also has a launch monitor which you can use to gather cold, hard data about your swing speed, ball speed, dispersion, ball flight trajectory, etc, which you can then use to see which shaft really suits you the best.
What works for me, may not work for you, and while I'm happy to give free advice, any advice that does not take into consideration your swing mechanics could result in mismatch, dissatisfaction with my 'recommended' shaft, and worse, unnecessary spending. Golf is hard enough to play, and my philosophy is (in the following order):
a. get fitted for length and lie b. see a coach to build a repeatable swing c. get shafts fitted to optimize dispersion and distance
Taking advice from people with good intentions may not necessarily mean that the recommendations are correct. I used to play only Dynamic Gold S300 shafts before I got fitted and found that I play better with KBS Tour Stiff or Project X 5.0 shafts.
Also, note that there is no standard measure for stiffness between manufacturers. One manufacturer's 'stiff' may be another 'manufacturer's' 'firm. A good set of shafts will set you back max 500, used ones will cost less, as much as half, and will easily last you years, so it makes sense (to me) to see it as a long term investment in the enjoyment of the game.

| Was using graphite, then switch to steel. Find the shots dispersion tighter = more accurate shots.. but I stick to lighter steel shaft (NSpro 850) cos when switching to steel, I lost one club distance. But no regrets - a matter of getting use to the lost of distance. | |
