anyone played in any golf course Bali before?

Yup. Planning for 18 a day for 3 days. Pondok Indah (12th), Matoa (13th), Jagorawi or Rainbow Hills (14th)

15-17 tentative, could stay longer in jkt.

have not played Matoa before..

Reviving an old thread as I just went to Bali for holiday and managed to squeeze in a round of golf at Nirwana Bali Golf course.

Played the above course at 2.30pm sharp as the rates are cheaper by half (before 2.30pm tee off - green fees USD 165, 2.30pm tee off and after - green fees USD 70), so I figured solo ball shouldn't take too long to finish and took the cheaper option. Great course and condition is good, however green speed is FAST - small putting stroke and the ball rolls. Dun always believe the caddy and they are not specialized at looking for your balls. Buggy on track as well.

The front 9 holes were spectacular, especially after the 5th hole. 6th hole dog left par 5 hole, can 2 on if you take the tiger line but 2nd shot is towards beach so depending on wind condition need to adjust the distance accordingly. Not to mention the signature hole in the picture above - hole 7. When I played there, which is near evening time, there were a lot of tourist walking at the beach to and fro from the Tanah Lot temple on the left side, so I was focusing more on not to screw up the tee shot such that my ball won't kill anyone down there haha. Anyway, use 3 wood to land near the green, 1 chip 1 putt and walk away with a par - very satisfied.

Oh btw, they do offer quality rental clubs - Taylormade superfast woods + super launch irons + corza ghost putter.

Do try it out next time if you are in Bali, would not be disappointed.

So far, I have been lucky with the caddies, most of them knows their stuff and managed to find most of my balls (except those that went swimming). I think it is likely because my client requested for the better caddies I suspect.

Another course that you might want to consider is the Bali Golf and Country Club. Nice course and most of the caddies are single handicappers and they are very good at club selections and reading of lines as well recomendation of placement of balls. In addition, as most of them are aware that a number of golfers there are tourist (read not good players), they are pretty patient and helpful.

I am planning to play Nirwana on the 13th of Feb.
There is still a big discount if you start play at 3pm, but I am not sure if it will not rain and if I will be able to finish around 630pm.

Anybody besides renode have experience at Nirwana for play starting at 3pm?
I am playing solo, so I know it is alos heavily depending on the amount of players at the course. Saving 100 USD is quite nice, but only if I am sure that I can play properly!

The last time I played there in the morning, so it was buggy on track. Anyway I ended up walking all the way, I just asked the caddy to take the clubs I need.
Nice wide fairways, but hole 7 par 3 is damn intimidating... Tee off from the cliff with the winds blowings non-stop

Oh, hole 18 is my favourite... The fairway is narrowing to the green between the trees.

its the best golf course in bali n perhaps in this region....

some of the scenery is breathtaking....

suggest u dun rush your game just to complete the course....

some holes there require a few mins to take in n admire the beauty.....


i believe there is a stay n play package for nirwana with Pan Pacific...

i think its US$170 for 1 nite stay with game....

but u need to call if the promo is over....

Thanks Slinger, I saw the promotion. Problem is that I already have accomodation and my wife does not play...
So for now, golf is booked, next time I will do stay and play.

Bro if wifey not playing golf then yes, play morning and walk the course... confirm can finish in 3 hours or less if you take the first flight then can go back hotel for breakfast

PLayed Nirwana some weeks ago.
What a beautiful course! In my opinion nicer than for instance Ria Bintan.
Good caddies and very nice staff. Played with a member who travels to Singapore quite often, so found a new golf buddy for regional games ;-)

Anyway, pics or it didnt happen right?
