anyone played in any golf course Bali before?

I noe the golf course in Bali all includes Caddy in the course fee... Do we need to tip the Caddy at the end of the game? If yes, normally how much? I am going Bali in 2 weeks. Planning to give New Kuta a visit.

Yes. I usually tip Rp. 100 thousands minimum if the caddy were not good/pouty. 150 if she/he were OK. 200 if she/he helped you score a low round

just played the New Kuta course last friday.

ok, here's some info that will be useful for those wishing to play there.

from Nusa Dua area hotels,you can get a hotel car or taxi to reach the course at Ungasan/Pecatu area. it's about Rp 120,000-150,000 to reach there. will depend on your bargaining skill.

Travel time is about 25-30 minutes. Green fees is US$160.00

Front 9:

overall, fairways are tight, lots of OB left and right, greens are small and contoured. The rough along the FW and greens are about ankle deep.

There are quite a few "blind" tee shots, If you miss the fairway into the rough,it can be challenging. The 2 spots for missing the green will be either short, on the FW or in the bunkers. Anything excessively long, left or right is trouble.

Back 9:

fairways are wider, greens are slightly bigger. should play a tad easier then the front.


The 14th, 15th hole offers great view onto Dreamland beach.

Next course to try will be Nirwana

I've booked Bali Golf and country club for one ball on the 31st there...... at least this is a consolation for me being not able to play in Bintan !

Next day will be New Kuta Course....

You should enjoy Bali Golf. But one word of caution. It will be very hot playing New Kuta as the trees are not matured yet. There is not much shelter.

if you play fast enough for one ball, then you might finish within 2.5 hours..

Based on my skill, I think I will finish in 3 hours lah... search for balls in the rough, or adjacent fairways... not possible to do 2.5 hours...

Bro, hard rock hotel would be able to make arrangements for you lah....if not, ask them to book the 'bluebird' taxi for you. the other alternative is to rent a car and self-drive, bali very easy to get around and car rental slao quite cheap leh !

Most of Bali golf courses provide free ferrying service from and to hotel. Make sure you call them and get the pick up from them for free.

If really there's none, just take cab. Very cheap.
