| I got the callaway x wedge from pan west for 69 and they're really good, for me a least. In any case, it's really important for beginners to get a good set since they're used on almost every hole, just liKe the putter. | |

| The PWs on my MB-5003s play at 47*, and I use a 52* and 56* to cover 100 yds and 80 yds respectively. I use my 56 to get me out of greenside bunkers and for pitching and chipping, 52 is kept only for 100 yd shots. Was thinking of getting a 60*, but there's just no point since most pros from back in the 80s were able to shoot par or better back in those days with just a 56. So can't be the arrow, and blaming the indian for bad scores | |

| yeah, but a 20m difference between a 47* and a 46* wedge is quite a lot, isn't it? Or did I miscalculate? Each 1* is 10m? | |

| khan.. I suggest you just buy a 56* wedge to start off with. The Callaway X wedges on offer are a good deal if you don't mind them. Along the way, as your golf more, you'll surely buy a lot more wedges.. For now, buy a 56* wedge, learn how to use it and have fun. I'm not so good, so I only carry a 54* Ping wedge in my bag now. I do have 52, 53, 56, 57, 60* wedges at home, but I don't know how to use them....hahahaa.. Don't worry, it's quite a natural progression to buy new equipment along the way, and then not use them. | |

| I think a few ppl here are missing the point on the OP.
Khan, judging by ur question, am I right to say u are a beginner?
If you are one, how long have u taken up golf or practiced?
Have u gotten ur PC or hdcp?
If the answers to question 1 and 3 above are 'Yes' and 'No' respectively, I wud think u do not need too many wedges to play ard with. U will confuse urself more.
Get a 56* sand wedge. Thats all u need to think about at the moment. As for bounce, trust me if u are a beginner, that will be the last thing on ur mind. Most 56* wedges come with more than sufficicent bounce angle in them anyway so dun worry about it.
Go practice chipping with the set of clubs u have. Anything from ur PW-6 or 7iron. U will find one u will be most comfortable with. Use the Sand Wedge only if u need some height for the shot ard the green.
As for hitting full shots. Unless u are pretty exact and dialled in for ur distances, 1 wedge is enuff. Learn to hit 3/4 and 1/2 shots with what u have. This will help urself learn feel for distance control.
Lastly, if the above makes no sense to you, ask ur coach. If u dun have 1, go find one then. It will make u learn the game alot faster.

Hi ghoonk, don't think we can compare your 47deg to my 46deg, might not be on the same scale. Think there are too many variables to the calculations I'm rather tall... okay very tall, with my shafts lengthened to stock+3/4 inch. I'll go convert Ernie Els' club distances and post it here in a while

| oh. I'm tall, shafts are 0.5" longer over stock. Guess what might explain a bit... are you using cavity back or muscle backs? | |

| Oh hello fellow tall mate I'm using cavity backs. I just went pass a Golf House the other day, and the MP68 were so calling out to me Ernie Els' irons distances (in yards): Yardages 2-iron: 238 4-iron: 212 6-iron: 188 8-iron: 164 PW: 134 3-iron: 225 5-iron: 205 7-iron: 178 9-iron: 152 | |

| In my part,
I used to carry a 4 combo wedge.
Pw of 45*, which i bent it @ 46* 52*, 56*, 60*
Then as I learned how to you used my wedge, I am using a 3 wedge combo.
a Pw, 52* and 58*.
i find 58* to be the easiest to opened like a 60* wedge
