| In my recent driving range practice, I realized that my ball is going to far left. I am wondering why?
Can anyone assist? | |

| Hi,
Better to hire a qualified swing coach for guidance. No one here can offer u quality tips because we all have not seen how you swing and how your ball trajectory like. It is only a guessing game by getting tips from here even if the individual who offers you tips is a single handicapper. This is because there are so many variables in a golf swing. My 2 cents' worth ...

| Get your friend to watch you hit. First suspect might be your aiming alignment. | |

| Agree. You can video it and good to get a coach to help you or someone who knows the game well =) but a golf coach is definitely ideal.
But if its far left and its goes straight left could most probably be club face and club path both aiming left. You can check and see how you are swinging it from down the line.

| The TS should seek help from Bernie Tan who is a qualified Swing Pro. TS must train his body to swing from inside-out in order to get straight shot. If you don't understand this lingo, all the more u need a swing coach. | |

Bro, how can a far left called a slice? It sounds like a push hook to me. That was why when tread started mentioned "ball goes way left"....I was wondering if he is a lefty (where his right arm/hand is the forearm) or like the majority right hand player(where they generally have the left arm/hand as forearm). If it is the earlier, his description would be a slice and if it is the latter, it would be a hook. Hope I am right here!

| Actually, it's all conjecture at this point. "Far left" can be construed in so many different ways... without further information from TS, who knows? In any case, it is still near impossible to judge without actually assessing the setup/swing, in which case it is best left up to a golf pro | |

| Sometime it is good to lay off for a while. forget all the bad habits and then re-start. I found that I played better iron shots after a month of not touching the clubs at all. But short games was a struggle as there was no 'feel' on how much strength to chip and the run of the ball. But got it back after a few games.... then all the bad habits also come back...hahaha | |

| Not sure if u found your answer. The typical answer "go find a coach" is a model answer and i dont know if that's what you want to hear. Probably easier to use that as an automated reply for any swing question posed in this forum. Instead of hearing from any keyboard warrior.
But I will hazard a guess since u asked. It is only my guess. U probably have a pull (using arm) , and an outside-in swing path to give u a far left. I'm assuming u are using a driver or mid iron that gave u such a terribly undesired outcome. Try practising with a PW to stabilise your swing path first. Get an inside-out path. Eliminate pulling by left arm during downswing.
And all the best to your practice:cheers:

| Ask people around you! I'm sure everyone would be willing to give "live" advice compared to a online forum!
I would be more than happy to give some tips if i see you around at the range! Because sometimes all we need is a little tweaking!
Hope you cure your swing soon!

| I am facing the same issue with you since last year.....nearly gave up. Till one day while at the range met my old coach whom I took lessons with as a beginner...he observed me for awhile and highlighted that my back swing was taken way inside and basically coming over the top with a very closed club face at impact.....so it was back to stage one again for me, re-look into my grip, my address, my takeaway and my downswing....wasn't easy and very frustrating, took me some times to get rid of all the bad moves....after closed to 3 months, I am seeing much straighter ball flight and can keep ball most of the times in the fairway and definitely enjoying my games better....my humble advise is to see a coach and see what you are doing wrong.....pretty hard to correct oneself,,, | |

I agree. Swing changes does take patience as it can be very hard while taking lessons but don't give up. The results will come.

| A golf swing is so mechanical that you can hit the ball even with your eyes close after address . The problem is everyone is trying to hit 300m . Get your fundamental right and practice makes perfect. | |
