Dear all,

Has anyone managed to give the new 9 holes at NSRCC a try?

I've been wanting to give it a shot but it has been fully booked even in  the evening.

Would be keen to hear some thoughts!

Cheers

It's a beautiful course with quality grass used.  Fairways are tight with plenty of water.

As with all new courses the greens are not settled yet.  Thus expect some inconsistency. . Play to the wind always as well.. But that shouldn't take you from trying or going back again.

Off the white it's quite manageable
Off the blue a bit more challenging

Greens were slow initially but today I played, it's rolling nicely
A pity I started seeing bare patches on tee box and fw already

Members reading this thread, PLEASE do your part
Replace divots with sand
Repair pitch marks on greens
Smoothen / rake bunker after you hit your shot
Do it for those caused by yourself and also by 'forgetful' members from the flights ahead

It's our course
If we don't play our part, then ultimately, we suffer

Thanks guys Smile I had my first round and I thought the course is beautiful. Quite a nice layout with snaking water around the greens which makes for a different experience from the Navy and other local courses.

The fairway and greens look promising with the choice of grass varieties, think it'll look twice as good when the trees lining the fairways grow (saw some young palm trees on the second hole, reminded me of Bintan Lagoon courses).

Hope the bookings get easier in time to come, its been packed almost throughout the day 7 days a week (excluding Mondays, which everyone knows is the hardest day to get onto the course Wink

Thanks for the sharing guys!

I like the new course a lot. Its more challenging with water hazards in play on a number of holes. The greens are a lot more undulating unlike Navy which is relatively flat.

first two holes play quite long especially from blue. 1st hole is a 390m long par 4 from blue. 2nd hole is a tough carry just to reach the fairway from blue. especially with OB right and water left.

other than that fairways are pretty hard still so you'll get quite a lot of roll especially on hole 3. Very Happy almost put in the water from the tee.

Hole 3 must choose your tee shot wisely
Off white tee better dont pull out driver or even 3w

Off blue tee then driver should be ok, but depends on your length

The course is playing rather firm (compared to the navy course from 10th tee)

So expect your ball to bounce forward from tee shots and even approach shots fired towards the green
