| My prediction is nope. We lack the winning mentality. But still, I hope to eat my words come June. | |

| Absolutely ... Lacks killer instinct ... I guess the Thais will pick up most of the medals under the golf segment ... | |

Why lack killer instinct? Is local golfer hero MM playing? Let's support Sg golf. Those rep Sg are worthy of their game. With support and home ground advantage, Im sure they will do their best. Let's not condemn ourselves like soccer etc.

| Sea games is only for amateurs I think. So MM is not playing. Marc Ong stands a good chance and he has just won the Malaysia Amateur a few days ago.
Btw, which course are they playing on?
Agreed with bro flash, we should support rather than condem our very own

| I don't understand why anyone would say our boys lack the killer instinct. Have you seen them play before? I play sometimes with Marc, he is as good as anyone out there.
Marc Ong, just won the Philippine Amateur, as well as the Malaysia Amateur Open. Two National Opens. Jon Woo plays for University of Oregon.
I am rooting for my SG boys, what about you? Although I damn wish i was the one playing in the Sea Games instead of them.

| I think their skills are as good as any amateur/pro players. They can hit long and precise. "Killer Instinct" means the will to win. Let's support them! Hope they outplay and outlast all the rest to win. | |

| If anyone here plays competitive sports at a high enough level, he or she will know what it means by killer instinct/will to win/steel resolve etc.
At international stage, skill difference accounts minimally for the top players - they are expected to know how to execute all the shots (if not, they shouldn't be there in the first place)
It is how u manage pressure from competing (ever know the feeling of trembling hands even though you train years n years for the competition?) and translating that to execution n outlasting everyone out there in the field. Not just contend with qualify for country representation/go-out-there-n-do-your-best kind of mentality.
I hope our SIN players know this aspect n can cope with it. Good example is the guy who won the 长拳 category in wushu.

| it's not easy playing competition, when everything is so serious there isn't any fun element and you sort of wish you kill someone every time you screw up, not to mention the thoughts of having to catch up afterwards is not fun at all...
Given the population size of Singapore compared to the neighbour, those are some seriously great achievement and worth praise.

| Not surprised with the results ... Sok Hwee was leading but ended up taking the bronze. Same story for Marc Ong ... Thats why I said lacks "killer instinct" ... They should do better than these since they know the course much better than their rivals ... Anyway at least better than none ... Good job but not impressive! | |

| Congrats to Team Singapore! I say it's really a job well done, given the pressure. We see it too often in PGA tournaments that leaders are not always guaranteed a win on the final day. Killer instinct or not, this experience will definitely help our Sg golfers to continue to grow | |
