In some ways, playing public-accessible golf courses is HARDER than if you play on tour-quality championship courses--except for the overall lengths involved.

Pros rarely encounter beer cans, flicked cigarette butts, unfilled divots by the doznes, countless ball marks on the greens, fallen tree branches, bad course maintenance issues, rude golfers, and other rubbish on the courses they play on.
