| FYI was at Victoria golf at Shinjuku just now and saw the XXIO8 fair woods for 31500 yen. Pretty good price I think ($300+ sgd). With Japanese shaft. Will look around more next few days but think can buy at this price | |

| $500 for XXIO fairway wood M800 shaft in Singapore. Go try Golf Partners near Tokyo Station. I think cheaper there. | |

| Thanks Ant, will go look see at Ueno side then maybe Golf Partners tomorrow. Interestingly had a few swings with the club at Victory Golf (only had regular flex).. from the results on the monitor he recommended a stiff shaft else another brand as XXIO's tend to have whippy shafts and were not so ideal for my swing speed which was >100mph.. a bit torn now haha | |

You are welcome. Walking around Orchard anyway. Yes.. The R flex is really whippy. Am using SR now for the utility. If your Swing Speed is > 100. I think you probably need stiff. : )

| Tried Golf Partner today and they were closed for stock take! Talk about bad luck! But the shops at UENO are selling the fairway woods for 35k yen (around SGD$400). Best price I've seen so far. So many brands, really a golfers paradise! | |

| Found and bought an almost new looking XXiO8 3 wood for 25907 yen at golf partners today. They had a few used ryoma d1 maxima at around 50k yen but condition didn't look that nice | |

If it is 50k Yen for Ryoma Maxima with aftermarket shaft, it is still ok

If you use hybrids, highly recommend Ryoma (3u or 4u depends on you).

| Mmm.. Just got somone to buy a XXIO utility wood to take advantage of the lower Japanese Yen. Seem the shops there now jack up the price to compensate for the exhange rate..! | |

How do you know they jacked up the price? By how much? The exchange rate has been quite constant the last couple of months, unless you're comparing to a year or so ago

| Actually, in November the exchange rate for the SGD vs. JPY was higher than it is right now, around 1 SGD to 90+ yen, vs. now when it's around 1 SGD to 87 JPY. May not have been a price increase, unless both cases you paid the sticker price for new clubs.. could have gotten a slight discount from the salesman when you bought vs. when your friend bought (i.e. not buying for himself so never ask for discount?) | |
