It's an oligopoly...no incentive to lower unless one breaks rank and sparks a price war

Cartel by petrol companies. Ditto for taxi companies. And what can you do about it. People will KPKB and still continue to pump petrol and take cabs after a short while of boycotting, if it ever happen. Another example is the recent increase in toll fees. You KPKB but still quietly pay to go to JB.
For petrol, if consumers can work together, there might be a chance we can push the petrol companies to lower the pump price. Simply boycott one brand for a month and see whether that company will lower the price if there's no business. But that can only happen if consumers cooperate. It is however unlikely to happen. A bit like golf score. Easy to go up, difficult to come down.

When SPC surfaced, its intention was to provide a competitive petrol price. Now they have joined the bandwagon for a kopi session with the other big boys. Who would want to initiate a price discount and get plucked.

Do an open letter. It seems to be very effective these days.

Just a little FYI to all bros..SPC aka Singapore Petroleum Company Limited..is 100% owned by Petrochina. Think this happened somewhere in 2009/2010.

So it's not a kopi session with the other big boys, it's called kena jiak by a big chinese boy.
