I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't remember the answer but is better for a slower swing speed, the Pro V1 or Pro V1x?  I know titleist will say swing speed doesn't matter but I wonder what the general sentiment is....I use Pro V1 with a 91mph driver swing speed.....
One needs higher compression speed to optimize proV1x ... I believe prov1 is more for your swing speed ... But I've yet to test the prov1x balls ...

I have been using Srizon Z-Star and Volvik for the past 1 year.

They are so durable that 1 ball can last for 2 or more games without much scratches. PRO-V1/V1X will always be scratched after less than 9 holes.

I am getting about the same driving distance between Srixon, Volvik, PRO-V1/V1X. For the short game around the green, i feel that Volvik gives the shortest roll among them.
We are using the same Volvik ball but your score is definitely better. Please show me how to hit this ball properly.

Your 3i hit further than my driver even though i hit it sweet and with a lot of rolls ....

please don't laugh at me Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

Interesting chart I found:

https://public.tableausoftware.com/profile/mathieu7002#!/vizhome/2014GolfBallsComparaisonChart/Dashboard1

Looks like there isn't much diff in spin rates between Callaway's SR1, 2 and 3...except for compression numbers....

I just googled this....the rule of thumb is matching the compression rate to your swing speed...ie >100mph and 100 compression: 90mph to 90 compression....etc....

Based on this, I'm using the wrong ball....think i'll try a lower compression ball than my current prov1 or callaway sr2...

This is getting quite cheem.. my impression was higher swing speed with low compression ball would maximise spin. Presumably a compressed ball has more contact with clubface, hence imparting more spin. So matching swing speed and compression did not seem to make sense to me. Then I read this and now I feel slightly more enlightened

For value-for -money balls, I would recommend
1.Noodles Long & Soft
2. Tour Special

The former wears out faster.

They get compressed almost on a daily basis when the kiddos decide to take flying leaps from the sofa without warning......

Just looking for that extra edge....i think swing wise, I can't squeeze any more out of it....i've recenlt bought and sold the TM SLDR and Callaway BB......maybe a change in golf balls will help!?!!

Found this review in GolfWRX comparing the Titleist ProV1 against the Titleist Pro V1x.

For added reference, budget performance balls NXT Tour and NXT TourS, as well as distance balls Velocity and DT Solo were thrown in for good measure.

Numbers were taken off a lob wedge, 6 iron and driver.

It's an interesting read if anything.
