My fren has been trying to sell me his Taylormade XR square head driver for $80.00? but I told him his driver shaft being too soft and I need replacement  even a used Fujikura speeder would cost $80.00?

Is $50.00 for the head fair price?
Your kind feedback and opinion is appreciated.

Thanks ~ guys.

The XR seems to be a 2008 model. Let's assume you can sell for $50 for the head alone, the buyer would have to fit a normal used shaft himself. That would incur another perhaps $60. So in total it would cost $110. Plus it is a Non-conforming club, it cannot be used for tournaments.

With driver prices now at its low coming from Golf Direct, it might be sensible to review the cost. Just my 2 cents. Smile

Not thinking of buying any club at the moment as my current Callaway is serving me well. Besides, my back is too stiff for stiff shaft. Very Happy

If this is the XR08 Driver head, I remember it was above $600 when it first came out ... and yes, the shaft feels like a rubber band ... perhaps not the best match of head weight and club flex for me

As for the price, depends on relationship level I guess, but what is $50 for a new toy or something to occupy you for a while ...

As for shaft, there might be pullouts from other clubs left lying around that should be much less than $80 ....

Have fun!

As what TDO mentioned, if you do play in a lot of tournaments, might not be worth going down this route ...

p.s.  seems that there were a lot of square headed drivers couple of years back but almost none now ... maybe manufacturers have gotten better at moving weight around to optimise MOI across the club face while maintaining a rounded head ... or maybe there is some other reason?

Thank you for all your feed back much appreciated.

Maybe I should be looking at Fujikura Speeder shaft 50gm Japanese stiff or 52gm SR shaft
used shaft I am ok to try out. if not I will continue using my Nike Sumo 5900
it serve me well since 2009!

But shaft has got life span, distance has got limitation due to age.
Nike Sumo head replace with Fujikura shaft would be the next option.
