Hii newbie here, anyone practising range at Champions Bukit Timah?

How is the course at champions? Nvr try before. Exciting? Diff for beginners?

I played at Champions BT last month and actually enjoyed it a lot.

I'm a 9 hcp and I was actually surprised at how challenging the course was - I was fully expecting an easy pitch and putt course. I took a friend who had only been playing for 6 months and he found it pretty tough. You need to keep the ball pretty straight as anything off to the left or right was difficult to find in the deep rough!

If you are just starting out I would say get some lessons and get to a point where you hit the ball a decent distance consistently. The one thing that ruined Champions for me was the pace of play of the two groups in front of us.

Champions is an easy 9 hole, when the grounds are good. And a short drive for me from Dover Rise. 
I usually do early weekdays. If someone is keen, PM me here.

Also....try not to go in too deep into the rough looking for lost balls. Not worth the trouble for more than one reason.

Just to share after this morning session there.  To me nothing much changed. The mats were used and the balls were not cleaned thoroughly.  Only saving grace was the free parking...

lol the mat there most of them is almost "botak" .

Botak Mats and dirty balls. Seems like similar situation when Bishan was closing. Is it that they are also closing?

I'm reviving this old thread.  Any west area kakis to play quickie 9 holes at champions or JCC exec course on weekdays?  Champions weekdays before 8 am $25, after 5 pm $21.50 (cannot be too late otherwise cannot finish before it gets dark).  JCC exec course weekdays $30 walk in. Hope to do like every week to improve my game.  Anybody interested? PM me please.  BTW I'm a high handicapper. Thanks.

I have been to the Champions range a few times, great place to practice, would like to go more often but transportation is tricky (don't have a car). Planning to try out their free weekend shuttle bus later this month.

FWIW, was at the range last night, and... brand new TaylorMade range balls!!
