| Top three after day 1
(1) Choi Na Yeon, (2) Lorena Ochoa & (3) Cristie Kerr (my personal fav).
Go Cristie, Go!!!
A second US Womens Open win for her would be great.

| After the yesterday's cut--Yani Tseng, Birdie Park, Angela Stanford and other biggies LPGA touring celebs did NOT make to he weekend's final two rounds. Cristie Kerr leads one stroke over P. Creamer going into Day 3 of the prestigious tournament. IMHO--Go, Cristie, Go!!!! CK | |

| Day 3 saw Paula Creamer triple bogey (79 final score for the day) and drop from 2nd place to 14th.
Cristie Kerr (BTW, who is Birdies for Breast Cancer Charity Fund's spokesperson) leads the pack by 2 strokes.
I wish her good luck on Day 4!

| Creamer's chances are all gone. What a shame!!!!Not really. She gets what she plays--the numbers dun lie. I have said previously to another LPGA player that if I cannot say anything good about 'Pinkie Creamer", I would not say anything more. Hence, I say no more! CK | |

| Michelle really disgusted many of her fans a few years ago by listening to her overbearing father and ending up making a complete fool of herself playing PGA events.
Carol Bivens (LPGA Commissioner) told me that Michelle will have to 'grow up' and make her own decisions of what is right for her career.
Michelle Wie is young, talented and pretty. She is far from being a wash-out in the near future.
The group that is rising fast on the LPGA win lists are the Koreans. There is a small army of Korean-born or ethnically Korean lady players on tour. Even more are in the Korean junior leagues or Q schools in America.
Another group of lady pro golfers to watch are the Thais. The guys from Thailand are doing well, and the Thai lady golfers are just as competitive--maybe the extreme heat, humidity and tuff terrain on which they train gives them an advantage during competitive events overseas?
India, South America, Tawian and Scandinavia also are producing some good future players for the LPGA also.

| i think the koreans will rule in the next 3 to 5 years.
the thais are good but they lack the fundamental training. they only get the right training when they have made it or if their parents are really rich. but then again the rich ones may not be hungry enough. (Grace Park from S Korea is an example)
the Koreans on the other hand have a manufacturing plant process that is churning out very good golfers. what we see today are the 1st to 3rd wave of female golfers. when the 5th wave arrive, they will be taller and stronger. skill wise, they will be very competent although its difficult to put a score on mental strength.
but physically and fundamentally, they will be hard to beat in 5 years time.

| DG_Man, Yeah. Nobody 10 years ago would have predicted S. Korea as a future source of talented LPGA players. Credit must be given to Se Ri Pak for being the 'idol' of "Se Ri's Kids". Makes me (somewhat) proud to be genetically a Korean although I was raise since a baby in an all-white American Mid-West rural community. I figure if the young female Koreans can learn to play golf so well, I should at least have a chance of playing tolerable golf and breaking 90 some day! CK | |

| I agree with DGMan. I think the Koreans are really showing tremendous skill and talent. They'll be the ones to beat in the years to come. | |

| The winner (Ji Eun-Hee) of the US Womens Open 09 beat Candy Kung by one stroke.
On day 4, Cristie Kerr squandered her lead and ended up tied for T3 with Kim In-Kyung.
Ji's consistency over four day led to her to victory--71, 72, 70, 71 (284) when many others' score got worse day-by-day as the tournament commenced.
Jean Renolds dropped all the way down to T17 from placing in the top three during previous days.
Paula Creamer ended up at T6 (up from her disasterous day 3's performance) and Lorena Ochoa at T26.
You cannot help but see that two of the four top players (T1 -T3) at the event are Koreans. (DG Man's prediction looks true.)
There are big celebrations going on in S. Korea now--even with North Korea still threatening nuclear war.

| the winner Ji is consider pin size. looking at the top 10, there are only 2 americans and 7 asians (5 south koreans) and a european.
pound for pound, i think the koreans have very sound technique, discipline and a scarier-than-scary sense of mental strength. you can compare the winner versus jean reynolds, about the same size but a world of difference in terms of technique and mental strength.
hopefully we will see other asians joining the lpga and the pga tour.
