I experienced the same thing about 1-1/2 years ago. This stranger tried jioing me for game twice and talked as if we were buddy buddy. Then never hear from him ever again.

I got a game pooling sms and then watapp messages from a bro as my contact is on one of the game pooling threads here. I did not reply as I was busy and was not active in game pooling. As he saw that I read his message in watapp and not responded, he replied a few days later "I will blacklist you".

I m quite lucky to be in a group of rather active golf wa group whom members are more than willing to share their knowledge n experiences. And there is nvr ending games to join.

Usually a female will use the word, "nevermind" ... Sounds more feminine and less macho ...   

For male, the reply would usually be, "Oh, forget it" or "doesn't matter" ...
