| Hihi... IMHO mizuno and maruman makes excellent ladies' set. They have at least 3 models each to choose from depending on your budget and preference for the asthetics (colour and design).
If you are taller and stronger, you can also consider callaway or wilson (more affordable) which also offers nice complete sets for ladies.

| perhaps you can list out what are the clubs u got... usually full set will not be 14 clubs as the spare are for you to fill in with wedges of different lofts to help cover the distance gap... | |

zizzy, 14 is the max number of clubs you can carry during a game. A typical set should have driver, 3 wood, 5 wood, 4 to 9 iron, pw, sw and putter. that's 12 clubs. Your 11 efil set, should be in the similar config, with 4 iron maybe. If so, you are more or less done for now. Maybe get a hybrid to replace the long irons.

Both my wife and daughter are using mizuno efil. As far as I remember, the standard set contains: - Driver - 4 wood - 7 wood - 5 hybrid - 6 to 9 iron - PW & SW - Putter Total = 11 clubs So yours is correct. IMHO that is more than enough clubs to play with .

| Dear all, I am a new golfer. Am considering between 2 set of clubs. Either taylormade or Callaway.
Any recommendations? I like the Callaway one (largely due to packaging). haha. Callaway's set is $1320 (complete) and Taylormade is $1399.
The coach recommends complete set, he says a good complete set should last me a long way!

| Just my opinion, the Callaway and Taylormade sets both com with US Specs, and the shafts might be too heavy for a beginner to handle. I'd personally recommend, within the same price range or less, a full set by Kasco or Tourstage, or maybe even Maruman. All of these have asian specs with lighter and easier to handle shafts. And the good thing is, most of these japanese sets come with 4 and 5 hybrids, which increases confidence in your long game. Choose wisely. My humble opinion. | |

My humble opinion. Not necessarily so. Rocco, suggest you try out the clubs first before you make your decision to find out what you are most comfortable with and which gives you better ball striking. You wouldn't buy a car on just recommendations would you? Take your time to make a proper informed decision since as your coach says, a good set is going to last you a years. By the way, Callaway and TaylorMade have Asian spec-ed clubs these days comparable to the all Japanese spec-ed clubs. Speak to their reps. As TFP said, choose wisely.

| Helo people, thanks for your feedback. The Callaway one is the Solaire series. Think its Asian specs, made in Japan. Quite light in my opinion. Taylormade not so sure but i think they said its Asian specs as well. | |

| Yup, the major US manufacturers have pretty much wised up by producing asian specs for awhile now. Golf growth in the US pretty much stagnant, the growth is all in Asia, especially China now. Hope you end up with what you like best to love for a long long time. May you grow into each other. | |

| Hi people... after trying the Callaway Solaire and Taylormade Burner HT set, i decided to go for the Taylormade... Although abit more ex, and lesser clubs. With the Taylormade club, out of 10 balls, got about 7 nice swings . Ball was further and higher. The Callaway one, only about... 3? But realli like the packaging of Callaway... esp the pink golf bag! | |

| Saw the callaway one. I think you'll 'grow' out of that really fast. =p
I'm still using my maruman 'beginner' set. This is just to show that: yes... clubs last a long long time. so take your time to choose. =) Most importantly, you have to feel comfortable with it and not buy it cos of branding..
As for the full set, it is not necessary since i'm quite sure you'll be buying your woods and drivers.=) the ones that come with the set are not exactly fantastic. (I gave up using that after like a game or two).
My 2cents worth. =D | |
