Doesn't this set you thinking if the used balls we've been recycling is equivalent to the Balata ball featured in the video? Fact finding in the video about new technology does hold some truth because I do notice some glaring difference (in terms of distance) between my Cleveland CG Black driver vs the PING G25 driver which is only 1 generation apart…

Actually come to think of it. It depends on how you look at this video.... A cup half full or full empty. Whacking an old balata ball with driver from last millennium at 270yards
Does that ring a bell?
Luckily I just bought my Miura CB-501........

30 years with difference of 45 yards actually not alot consider the old driver is made of wood and steel shaft. With the modern setup, dont think the drive will go much longer but abit more forgiving. End of the day still your swing is the key to long and consistent drive.

I believe given this first titanium driver, Rory Mcilroy can still drive it down 300 yards.

Nice cool video clip! Modern day clubs much more forgiving which is important for my off-center hits besides extra 15m and the deafening 'at times' sound.

Agreed, modern clubs also make use of modern material to make the clubs easier to handle.
