| My take, there is 2 sides to this problem.
1) The issue came when there was an unusual surge from MT's signature. The mods can simply talk to MT and have mutually respectful resolution.
2) This policy were too quick to take effect as a policy when there is only one instance of the issue. When the policy takes effect with such haste, the action cause members to think that mods are capping everyone's freewill and freedom to have fun.
We are still sore about the last thread and this thread coming at this juncture is a bit too soon when we need time to calm our nerves. GR is small and manageable and most people know each other.

| Prevention is better than cure? May I know what is there to prevent? Future abuses or perceived abuses? Our gahmen didn't ban chewing gum till it got out of hand right? If too many guidelines are imposed, then the forum will become very restrictive isn't it? In any case, the admin and mods are the rulers of this forum, so they have every right to impose as many guidelines as they deemed fit. | |

| Walau, my LC bro leaving this forum?
I still remember the day when I was talking to Moon regarding setting up a forum after the Toons was down. How long was that? A year or two? Moon is always there listening to my suggestion and trying very hard to fulfill my ridiculer request.
Let me say something, I love the old toons because there is only 1 guy who is making the final decision and he don't change thing easily. We all live there like a big family, nobody is the high high on top to show their rank. If there is a dispute, we talk(write) it out. We always OT a lot just to have fun and we do enjoy it a lot. I think Moon, MC and Sunny and lots of the old toonster here also enjoy the sometime OT chatting as long as the thread starter don't mind.
Personally I don't like the way the new mod is doing. He is having too much authority to stop thread and he really utilizes it. Just like my recent WTS thread, we are just having the fun of it after I have done my sales and this new mod just jump in and stop everyone from chatting! So he is the boss of this forum?! There isn't any upfront kind of advice and he just chops everything off. At least can just PM me right? It make everyone think that chatting with me is a sin!
I think you know who you are and you are very rude! And this is the kind of treatment I got as the first member of this forum!!! N B !
I know Sunny and Moon very well and I believe they know me very well too. There are simply too much of stopping and blocking of a thread, it is a major issue and the only solution that you need to block it? Are we just 3 years old kids that need so much of a disciplinary action? We all have enough of letting other control us and I do not wish to be controlled again in a forum so tight.
I love this forum and will not follow my LC bro but I will stop posting any more for the time being until when 1 day I am happy to do it again.

I love this forum and will not follow my LC bro but I will stop posting any more for the time being until when 1 day I am happy to do it again. JC - if you have an issue, just name names. You don't need to be discreet about these sorts of issues. If you aren't happy with the way your thread was locked, come out and say it. We are all adults here. As for the treatment, it's a standard thing. All WTS threads are locked up once the item is sold. If you want it to have a chat, you are more than able to start a new thread. If not, the Marketplace section will become messy. I hope you understand. And, for the record, there is no difference in treatment for the last person who joins the forum vs the first person who joins the forum. There was no disrespect meant at all. Likewise, there was no need to be crude about it either on your part. If you can't see that, then that's your loss. If you have an issue with my actions viz your thread, please feel free to let Moon and Sunny know. This is and has always been a free forum. There is no preferential treatment for anyone and, certainly, not the mods.

| In my personal opinion (I'm not representing any groups or the admin here), Any forum needs to be moderated and follow the guidelines. Normally the guidelines is pretty much follow the common sense, and the regulation/law of the country it resides. It's rather messy and will be a battleground if the forum is not moderated. Example : HWZ - Used to be littered with porn and obscene materials. It was clamped down heavily after SPH obtained and purchased the legal use of HWZ. CMIIW here. Any football forum in the UK - they're not allowed to post any video streaming or playback related to their leagues. It's because of the copyrighted materials. Likewise with youtube. For signatures issue here, it has to adhere with some rules - for the sake of everyone. Imagine the situation where everyone is using w20xl10cm picture for their sig. You'll have eyesore to see the forum page. Seriously. And everyone will stop to visit the forum because you won't be able to find the content of the forum itself ! Likewise with the content, it has to be suitable with all ages here. We have lots of young golfer visiting this forum, male or female alike. I'm a mod at another football forum in Singapore btw. Consider this post like a freelance postings Just my 2c. | |

| relak bro... the mods here idolize PAP.... thus everything also want to control...
just live and let live.. post when we are happy... stay away when we are not...
dun not let the forum upset us.. instead use it when we need..
thats the kind of behaviour the forum encourages anyway..

I disagree with you... as i am one of the pioneer in HWZ.. before it was acquired by SPH, it was a tight knitted forum, very much like a family where everyone helps one another... Of coz, occasionally, you will have some monkey doing funny thing with the forum, but overall, it was very enjoyable and i got to know a number of frens there... However, after it was acquired by SPH, it became a buy sell forum... no soul no chracter.. in fact, i dun even visit there anymore unless i need to research on IT stuff.. ie purchase new laptop...

| S8, let's be adults here. There's no need to run down the mods collectively. It seems that CCC, JC and maybe you have an issue with me, rather than the rest of the mod team.
If you are not happy with the actions I've taken, by all means do let me know or let the Admin (Sunny/Moon) know. There's no need to be discreet about this. Why make remarks about idolizing PAP etc. Sounds silly to me.
In short, let me know if you are unhappy with what I've done or if you don't feel comfortable letting me know, I'm sure Sunny/Moon would be happy to take your feedback. Do not run down the other mods who, as far as I can tell, have done no wrong to any of you.
I trust this puts the matter to rest.

| Dun keep accusing me...
I have nothing against the mods...
but that doesnt mean i agree with the way the forum is manage...
do i not have the freedom to say that the mods put too much control in the forum?
is it wrong to say that the mods idolize PAP?
I idolize PAP too... Silly? let me ask LKY and i will get back to you...

I find that the mods here are doing fine ar.... it takes twice the effort to maintain forum.. Forum can be used (/ misused) quite easily.. just take a look at the recent spam in this thread http://www.golfrepublic.org/golf-sales-and-promotions-f16/golf-house-christmas-sale-t2721-30.htm (the post frm avgolfer), imagine if the mods dont do something or be alert always, someone might kena conned...
This forum is growing rapidly therefore more guidelines needed to ensure everyone love of this forum.. another example, notice recently there a tv ad in ch8, there is a kungfu couple telling another couple not to spit and litter blah blah, its so obvious that this ad is targeting the recent upsurge of the PR population.. IMO, these rules are here to stay for the benefits of the majorities...
Lets not quarrel liao, cheers...

| PLEASE....I was just listening to my idol ...THE John Lennon...'s Christmas Song when I came across this.....and pretty concern especially past dev and coming festive seasons approach:
May I suggest:
if someone or anyone is not satisfied with the workings or judgement of a specific person on the forum and by this , I mean not only Mods but anybody, PLS why don we just PM that person.....or at least to mod or another mod to take it offline.
This is macam staying in a HDB block....if you not happy with your neighbour, surely we don paste notices on wall on the gripes/issues......if not mistaken, we either go to talk to neighbour or go town council or even MP......same suggestion here lah...
Becos I am a believer that beneath and inside all of us, we are just golf-crazy....(I still hold that belief)
Just my thought...

Lets not quarrel liao, cheers... I may not know most of you but I have been following this thread. I agree with WiLL. Let the quarrell stop. Its sad to know that things like this happens in our Forum. There is a saying: the bigger the family the more problems they will face. Everyone have their own opinion because everyone of us think differently. Believe me its not easy to be an Administrator. Sometimes it can be a thankless job. In any establishments its difficult to please everybody. Some agree some don't. If there are no rules/guidelines or Company policy or whatever you want to name it, things can go haywire. Its almost Christmas, see the snow falling. Let forgive and forget. Life is too short. Enjoy it. Cheers!
