Marina. I prefer the folks there. There's a short malay chap who is very friendly and helpful, if not a little pushy.

| Why? The MX-300s are great and the MX-200s are very forgiving. That said, your short game being bad may not have anything to do with the irons but may stem from your swing. You may want to have that checked out. OR, take a gamble and get yourself fitted for a nice set of new irons | |

| I think new X-20s are rare, unless you pick them up in Malaysia. X-22s are in the market and have been for at least 8 months now. So, either you wait for the new irons from Callaway or go hug the MX-2/300s | |

| The MX 300s r a bit overhyped. Bought a set with nspro shafts n sold it within a wk. Found the heads too light (D0 swingweight), couldn't feel them on my backswing or at impact. Face feel is ok, but not as good as the good ol days when mizunos were japan-forged (like an MS1 or 3). Don't think these are forged there. They did feel better when i reshafted one with a kbs shaft and added head weight courtesy of eric but in the end, still not great. Also, the sole is fairly wide so you've to consider if it's suitable for the courses you play on. Wide is generally good for soft fairways cos they won't dig in so much but not firmer ones where sharper soles give u crisper hits and won't bounce on u so much.
Try to get fitted at a neutral fitting place. Do keep in mind swing speed is only a start, you got to check ur desired launch angles which r a consequence of ur swing's typical angle of attack, the club's lofts and shaft flex n kickpoints. Most impt thing is, try to test it on the range or course. These things can read right and feel right indoors but may not feel right outdoors and there's nothing like feel ultimately. I made the mistake of buying them on impulse and ended up losing a couple of good shafts' worth of money.

| Folks, I just joined this great forum recently and have been reading various threads. Allow me to share my experience having used both brands. I've previously used X-14 (graphite) and X-16 (steel) and a bunch of TM irons in between. Currently settled on my MX 900 (predecessor of MX950, 200 and 300) for a while now.
As far as Callaway is concerned, they have stuck to a tested and proven formula for making cast irons which are chunky, and forgiving (deep offset). If you hit the X-series irons, they are generally very forgiving, flies high. I agree with the earlier postings that X-20 and X-22 should be not much difference. In fact for me, the difference in all the X-series irons are marginal, mainly cosmetics. I can't chip with its PW and SW, too much offset for me.
My MX-900 for me, is the right club. The forged feel is lovely. Long irons have enough forgiveness, short irons have lesser offset. I vote for MX series if you wanna get from being a 24hcp to 12hcp (then can upgrade to MP series when you are a realy player!). The set is still relevant for me today (16hcp). Also if you asked any Mizuno irons users in this forum... I doubt if they will switch to Callaway... No disrespect to Callaway. Just different target market.
If you accept your game to hover around 20-24hcp, then Callaway X-series is great to have. Else, go for Mizuno MX series. Good luck in your search.

| I have switched from blade to MX300. I think they are amongst the best game improvement club. It is an excellent compromise between blade and game improvement club. Not too big and yet not too small. Great forge and the quality is first class. | |

| Folks,
I have the MX-300s.
There, I said it. Done. Let's move on.
Anyway, for those who are keen, I overheard that GH is opening a new outlet in Orchard Central and as part of the launch, there should be huge promotional discounts and likely to rival the prices you've seen and even do better. So, there's a good chance that Mizzies are going to be even cheaper then - no guarantees though... just a good chance.
