| Hi everyone, I wanted to change to a new set and was looking into these two particular models: X22 or MX300. Unfortunately I didn't have the chance to test out these two sets yet because Scotts Isetan was running out of stock of MX300. Instead I tried the Callaway new model WarBird and TM R9 Max! Between WB n R9, I prefer WB.
Before gg down to test out X22 n MX300, could anyone kindly advice on the impt things to note on these two sets so that I wont be "conned" by the sales pple?
Thank you in advance! | |

| This is a painful thread. I have the X-20s and they are great clubs. From what I've been told, they are not much different from the X-22s so just bear that in mind - not the same clubs but similar. The X-20s are game improvement irons. Cast irons, to be precise. They are generally easy to play and should suit most mid-high HC golfers though they would certainly benefit the high HC golfers more. Distance-wise, I think the X-20s are so-so and in terms of playability, it's alright. Shaping shots is possible but certainly, not as fluid as you would get with the more player-type irons. I tested the MX-300s recently and they are very very nice clubs. They are a step ahead of the MX-200s which are Mizuno's game improvement irons. The MX-300s are grain flow forged irons which, as you may have heard/read, are Mizuno's key selling point now in terms of feel. Forged irons, when hit well, will feel natural and sweet. The MX-300s give you that rush if you strike the ball nicely. Note, however, that the MX-300s were designed to be a compromise between Mizuno's MX-series (game improvement irons) and the MP-52 irons (more playability irons). So, the MX-300s give you playability but reduce the amount of forgiveness which you would enjoy with the MX-200s. They are also designed for the mid-high HCs but I think more suited for the mid-HCs. All in all, I would go for the MX-300s if you want playability and some forgiveness. The X-22s are great but a little outdated. If you can, get the X-20s instead since they are older and less expensive but function similar to the X-22s. Regardless, get yourself fitted for the irons. I think this is quite important whichever irons you use. HTH | |

| TS, Great feedback from you. Seiko, Probably you can wait for the time being until GH has their next Mizzy fair. Get fitted with the NSPro steel shaft (if you're worry about the weight difference with graphite as TrueTemper shaft is slightly heavier). GH staff can help you to check your swing speed to decide which flex you should go for (R, SR, or S) and get yourself fitted there.... | |

| Like wise, I would go for MX300 for the combination of feel, forgiveness and technology. Highly recommended. The only draw back is the pinch on the wallets. Also, if you are looking for woods and hybrids, consider MX 700 series as well. | |

But... things have changed I had also tried X18 before in the range. To me this club quite ok! The feeling is soft when hitting the balls. Now u had changed? change to what?

| How come MX30 NS Pro is so expensive? more expensive than MP series. Do Mizuno have demo days at the range? | |

The MX series range of clubs are designed for game improvement which appeal to a much broader scope of people. Club manufacturers convince golfers that a lot more technology has been invested in producing these sorts of game improvement clubs so therefore, they are more expensive. The demand is also higher since more people want to improve their game The MP series irons are blades which means that only better golfers should tackle them. How many golfers do you know who are average and need game improvement vs good golfers who don't need game improvement? Therein lies the demand and the supply, and the resulting price variance.

| The MX300 are pretty sought after in secondary market. So, I wouldnt be surprise if it still maintain its current price even till next year. Further to that the sales person in GH wouldnt give a toss if you tarik harga on the items... | |
