The Truth About Cleatless Golf Shoes

Really?

for me, cleats for course and cleatless for range.

You can expect that there will be another video on why non-cleated shoes is better.

Oh, in that case, I am going to try a simple test.

Take both cleat and non cleat shoes and placed them a carpet floor. Do a twisting effect to see which shoe can provide a better traction because golf have a lot of twisting action...

All I know is PGA professionals are also using cleatless shoes to play competitively.

For me, I'm only playing for fun so, no difference for me 

I choose between cleat or cleatless shoes based on the shoe color if it matches my outfit for that day. I know, I'm a bit frivolous 

But may not be the same for you lah!

Plastic cleats will also damage the green if one drags their feet ...

Cleats can hold my feet to the ground better. When I wear cleatless, I tend to lose my footing on the tee-off while using driver but I hit better off the green bcos I try not to swing so fast to keep my balance.

Lots of pros especially LPGA ones at switching to spikeless shoes.

Ease of wear and moving around as main reason.

No need to change shoes before boarding the bus back to hotel!

Oh, in Thailand no car distributor sponsor them? Sad ... In HSBC Singapore Ladies Open, brand new Jaguar X-Series (courtesy of Wearnes Group) will be used to ferry them to and fro hotel ...

I'm with you on this! I loved sliding around indoors on metal spikes

I find cleatless golf shoes are fine at the start. But as time goes by, the "spikes" seem to wear out much faster than the cleats of normal golf shoes. I've found my left foot slipping and spinning out when I swing through on the course.

Cleatless designs are more modern and more convenient, but I do think performance side the traditional cleated designs are still one up

I love hearing the clickity click sound when walking on concrete pavements and the good grip on the fairway.   

My club banned the use of metal spikes after a group of golfers/caddies was struck by lightning whilst under a rain shelter that was somewhat flooded due to heavy downpour. It was reported that the two golfers who perished were wearing metal spikes shoes.

To me wearing Cleatless is more of a convenience and for style & comfort, I can go straight from home/office to the course,  drop my bag, take the buggy or walk and I am ready to go play.

Bring back metal spikes. Like that I can wear them to climb the tress to pick fruits or look for my ball....

if you drag your feet, it will damage the green.  So often I give up putting.

Cleats on left foot and cleat less on right. That is the way to go

First he looked like Sam Snead cos he lifts his left heel. Then he loses his balance after impact so I know it's not the legend.
