PostSubject: Advice - Giving Up One Deg 15 Membership?   Advice - Giving Up One Deg 15 Membership? I_icon_minitimeTue Feb 18, 2014 10:56 am

I am thinking of giving up my One Deg 15 membership.
I don't use it and thinking the monthly subscription can be used to pay for other golf club ... LOL.
Of course, the "investment" will be down the drain.
Anyone did this before?

The transfer fee is $10k.
And I don't think I can sell anything higher than $15k.
Unless any bro here interested?
U pay transfer fee + a nice watch or a nice set of irons with BFG iron covers?  LOL.

A bit heart pain to cancel membership but in the long run, seem to be the correct move?

Email to the membership department stating that you wish to resign from the club as a member and get the details of your Membership.

Follow by a snail mail to the Director of Membership giving the reason for your resignation (under utilisation, out-station, etc).

Then return the car decals and membership card to the club.

That's how my Mrs did hers

Very sad that One Degree 15 membership value has degraded down the drain after just a few years. My friend gave up his for a simply reason. He felt that even though he got the chance to play in Tanjong course before, he really pissed off being treated as 3rd class citizen with priority given to the REAL Sentosa members.

If you paid 200+k for a membership at Sentosa, I believe you will welcome the priority. Members should have its privileges and if not, I guess no one would want to buy the membership.  Beer

On a side note, i played Tanjong a few times and didn't feel the discrimination as a guest. Maybe I was a little lucky.  Cheers Jump

The problem is many people bought the membership initially not because of its boating facility but harness the thought they may used the membership as a stepping stone to play at Sentosa.  But when reality sink in, they just give up. Imagine the constant embarrassment when your invites for lunch or dinner keep asking you why they need to pay Sentosa entrance fee when they don't used any Sentosa facility at all?

@gomjgo, were they misled into buying the membership? I guess people should do their homework before diving into any membership purchase. Read the fine prints before parting with our hard earned money.
