Joining mgk w/o union membership?

Like to check with mgk members here on how to join mgk w/o any union membership. Non working adults, semi or retired does not hold a job, so, how to join?

NTUC membership is open to anyone above 16 years of age, except personnel from Singapore Police Force, Singapore Prisons, Auxiliary Police bodies, foreign domestic workers and full-time students.

Yup they used to have discounts at some
Golf stores but not sure whether they still have it now. Also when you renew they might have some promotions. I got cheaper mbgc green voucher and massage vouchers before. If you don't have a club maintaining your handicap , they will also help you maintain your handicap I think.

I believe they organise games here and overseas too? So, ntuc membership is acceptable to join mgk.

MGK can maintain your hcp.

Mon & Tues small discount to play MBGC. Fee waiver for advance booking.

Can play OCC at $82.50. If not it is $130+ weekday.

MGK was created to, among other things, maintain golf handicaps for Union members so that they would be allowed to play at OCC.  Hence, NTUC membership is a requisite, there is no way around it.  It is part of MGK's club constitution.

As for NTUC member, although originally it was only for working adults, anyone above the age of 16 who is based in Singapore can apply for NTUC membership.  If fact, there is a community called U-Live that is specially for those aged 55 and above.  The only guys that can't join are those is the police and related forces who have the legal right to bear firearms in a civilian environment.

As for benefits, for latest updates check the MGK website.  Also, I would ask the club how many golf passes they have available for balloting now.  At one stage, there were more than enough to go around, but I have heard there are less available now, but perhaps it is just temporary, so best to call the club up.
