generally speaking, forged irons should feel softer and 'better' than cast

once iv tried forged, i can't go back to cast anymore

that said, there are forged irons and there are FORGED irons. A high quality cast may in fact feel softer than a low end forged, due mainly to the type and quality of steel used

Also, note that there are many different types of forging. There's true forged, then there's form forged, and then there's partially forged (eg. a composite club head where only the face is forged)...etc.
