| Does the type of golf ball really matters? I've tried different brands but so far it feels the same to me...
is it my own problem of my swing?
Any bros have the same situation?

| Some may go longer and/or play softer. If one can't feel the difference, it probably don't make a difference yet. Work on the swing. And I'm talking about myself. You maybe playing much better | |

| Usually for very good players that can compressed the ball well will make a diff. But for me it's just the putting feel. | |

| I'm not the very good player ChrisD mentioned, but I do feel difference and I strongly advocate players to stick to one/two models of balls they like and always play with.. e.g. how it affects me: 1. at Tee off, the feeling of the ball off the driver, I can feel some as very "light" while some as very "dead/heavy".. 2. some balls are so hard when chipping and putting which I don't get the feel at all, and it just bounced off the club face.. some have no spin/checks when chipping.. 3. distance wise, I do feel the difference too.. Golf is a game which a minute alteration makes so much difference, I would choose to minimize all possible different permutations to have a more consistent game.. | |

| when your golf ball rolls off the green when you hit a perfect pitch shot, then the golf ball matters. | |

| Chien, don't deny that you are a good player. If you can feel the diff when playing with your irons, it means that u really contact the ball sweet to be able to feel the softness of a 3 pc ball. | |

| I still have not come to the point to use use premium balls yet. because I still cannot really feel it.
However, I chance upon the "feeling" when I was putting on my home tile floor. Yes, tile floor! I was using a "distance" ball and and a premium ball just for the fun of it. That was when I realised that I can feel the difference of the 2 balls upon impact with the putter. hands down very distint that the "distance" ball feel "harder" and the premium ball feels "softer".

| For a high handicapper, since the strokes and knowledge on course management is stabilising, I think choice of the ball selection is not the priority. Also, why do u wana donate so much balls?
For a mid to lower handicap, every details plays a big difference. Choices of balls and clubs are very important here. It will make a world apart for scores such between 79 vs. 81 or 89 vs. 90.
I think choices of balls should rather be based on the swing speed instead, soft ball for slow to mid tempo swings and hard balls for high tempo swings.
I am sharing my view of thoughts as I have tried alot of Goll Balls.

| My observations:
1. Titleist Pro V 2. Titleist Pro V1x 3. Taylormade Penta 4. Srixon Soft Feel
Driver: 1. Softer and tends to curve more on bad shots 2. Soft and less curve compared to Ball1. Longer than Ball1 3. Heaviest amongst the 4 balls. Distance is the worst. 4. Lightest, least curve on mishit. Longest distance.
Irons 1. Softest feel. Able to hold the green the best. There will be times where backspin happens too! 2. Less soft than Ball1. Still holds the green quite well and is half a club longer than Ball1. 3. Shortest distance of the 4 balls. Does not hold the green as well as ball1n2. 4. Too long! At least one to two clubs longer than the rest. Of the limited times I used this ball, I always overshoot the green, so I don't know whether they hold the green or not.
Wedges full n half shots. 1. Nice and soft. Shots land soft and I am able to predict the amount of roll. 2. Same as Ball1, just add in half to one yard of roll more. 3. Heavy ball. I still can't figure it out. Catch no ball. 4. Roller. What check? What bite? Non existent.
Chipping. 1. I am used to this and ball2. Chipping is all about confidence and when I have confidence with the ball I am using, the results usually not be too bad. I am able to execute the shots that I want with this ball. 2. Same as Ball1. 3. Does not check up as much as Ball1n2. 4. Only one kind of chip shot with this ball, chip n run. And it runs veli veli long.
Putting. 1. Again, it's all about confidence n feel. Ball1n2 gives me that. 2. Same as Ball1. 3. Not too bad, but it is a heavier feeling ball than the 2 above. 4. Light. Too hot off the face.
My purchase price: 1. I buy them used. Price range: RM 5.00 to 2.00 per ball 2. Same as above. 3. Never bought any. Got some from a tournament. After using it for 3 holes, gave them away to a friend. 4. If buy used, maybe Rm2.00 to 1.00 per ball.
My favorites: ProV1x: It performs the best for me as it seems longer than ProV and tends to have lesser curve on mishits. Iron shots are also about half a club longer than ProV. Chipping and putting feel is the same.
ProV: When I exhaust my stash of ProV1x, I will use this ball. Or when I need more bite on faster greens, this will be the goto ball as it tends to check up faster and have more spin on my chip shots.
I have my lobangs to get them at prices I can afford. All I need to do is to play used balls.

| Thks for the sharing.
Very detail indeed; too bad nothing on Maxifi Noodle ball which is producing better results than titty ProV for me. Maybe the ball is too soft thus when I miss hit, it just fly all over the place.
