I just bgt the Titleist AP1, love the feel of it, the high trajectory too !
Itching to get a new set (2-4) wedges to complete a long overdue overhaul of my weapons !
been using my Cleveland 588 gunmetals for 10-15 years at least. time to embrace new technology, me thinks.
Checked a few reviews on the web, Scor, Vokey sm4, Renegar, seemed pretty well thought of.
heavnt tried any of them tho
thinking of going down Wiz golf check out the Scor, hope not too exp !

all advice welcome.

wedges, like putters, are a very personal choice, you almost HAVE to like it to play well with it.

a lot of us use wedges differently, some like hitting full shots, some mostly partial shots, some golfers come in steep, some come in shallow ...

wedges are designed differently and some will fit you more than others

think you are taking the right approach by trying out various brands

word of caution, because of the loft and bounce, almost all wedges feel great when tested off driving range mats, even a really fat shot will launch the ball, suggest you buy 1 and try on real grass before getting the whole set ....

good luck in your search

Thanks Derek. i shd just buy one first before comitting the rest. i am always too trigger happy !

Read abit on the loft n bounce, Scor wedges supposed to have a superior two bounces V sole that helps ! seemed alittle chim to me tho ! but ang mo websites seemed to have very good feed back on this wedge.

I think the Callaway Mack Daddy 2 wedge is worth considering.

If you would like to try out the v-sole tech, I have a eidolon lob wedge for sale in my sale thread in my signature below. Scor is the new name change of the company. Cheap cheap nia. Try for yourself to believe. afro

I think the Mizzy MP R12 series is a good wedge ... couple with DG Spinner shaft is almost ideal ...

Flashpacker. Thanks, M Daddy 2 has nice grooves.

Angyongshen, at the moment i dont use a lob wedge(60 degree?) , thanks for the offer tho. Also i seldom change clubs , so dont mind investing in a new one.

Turbo, thanks , R12 is a great looker esp the black nickel , very tempting, where can i try mizuno clubs?

Looks like a shopping season for me ahead, looking fwd to try a few of these wedges.

I prefer using low bounce on my 60 and approach wedge.

In my humble opinion, if you liked Cleveland wedges long time.
Then go for Callaway wedges, since their Wedges are now designed by Roger Cleveland.

I liked wedges that have the DSG looked. Cleveland a few years ago, came up with a DSG ( Dynamic Sole Grind ) RTG ( Raw Tour Grind ) which were great!

Just re-opening this thread on a related topic to get your thoughts

I realised that I've been gaming my set of 52-56-60 Deg wedges to compliment my 44 Deg lofted pw. There's a 8 Deg gap between my pw and aw. Somehow I managed to bridge any perceived distance gaps by choking down the grip, playing 3/4 shots

I'm due to get my new set of irons (yes itchy backside) that also comes with a 44 Deg pw. This time, I'm determined to address this issue by playing a 50-54-58 set of wedges (still has 6 Deg between pw and aw)

One option is to get another 48 Deg wedge and then I will have a 5-wedge system (44, 48, 52, 56, 60) isn't that an overkill? (And I need to give up a wood/hybrid or iron to keep it to 14 clubs)

What would you do if you were me?

Bro,

IMHO, wedge game is all about feel, and how much you trust your wedge to execute the swing, because accuracy and distance judgement is most crucial.

You need to put in a bit of range to work out the same feel with the new wedges, but i am sure they will turn out fine

if i have a 44 Pw...

i would take a 49/54/59 wedge setup...

its only 5 degree gap but u need to bend 2 wedges.... but its only bend 1 degree
