| Hi All,
I have been looking at getting myself a Scotty Cameron Newport 2 for some time and finally decided to get one as a year end gift. One curious thing I noticed is when I was shopping for it earlier this year, around June, the best price I got from most stores are in the SGD 430 range after discount. 5 months later, over the last 2 weeks, the best one I found is SGD 470, after discount and they are from the same major stores as before.
Is this due appreciation or scarcity? Or is it just an impact of the SGD weakening slightly against the USD hence requiring a repricing?
Any lobang where I can find a brand new Newport 2 will be appreciated as well. Thanks.
Cheers! | |

| Cheaper to buy in USA (if you travel to USA) ... or if your friend is travelling to USA, ask him to buy for you ... If you buy online and courier to Singapore, the total price is around S$460 (includes 7% GST + Courier fee). Hence, no point to buy online unless the model you want is not available in Singapore ... | |

| Hi Turbo,
Thanks for the tip. Cheapest one I can find online is USD 350 right now making it very close to what is available in SG. Will likely get one in SG to ensure I check the quality.
I was just wondering why prices of an old product would appreciate when the normal trend is for it to go down...hence the thread.

| HI jdyap, perhaps you might wanna ask Golf Simply @ FESC how much they can offer you ... Oops, you are right that the US Online shop is selling at around US$350. The price I got is old price (US$299) ... So the total price to Singapore should be about S$523 (depending on exch rate) ... So it is still better to buy locally ... Acushnet controls SC putter price tightly and they also don't come up with new models too frequently unlike TM ... Agents of Acushnet cannot sell below certain level without first seeking permission ... That was what I heard ... And, the demand for SC putters continue to increase globally ... That may be one of the main reasons you see an appreciation in SC putter price ... The good thing is, its re-sale value is very good too ... Putter enthusiasts view SC putter as a collectors' item because of its fine & exquisite design and finishes ...

GD is the only place where 2013 drivers drop value every month of that year the drivers come out eg R11, R11S, Xhot etc lol

GD is the only place where 2013 drivers drop value every month of that year the drivers come out eg R11, R11S, Xhot etc lol GD can't do that because they are one of the authorised agents of Acushnet in Sg ... Therefore they can't parallel import Acushnet products ...

| Hi Jeffman88 and Flashpacker,
Thanks! I called all GD branches but they don't have the model I want. Last selling price they were offering was at SGD 450. They did offer to order the club from the supplier though. This was a surprise since I heard in September it was SGD 420 from them.
Hi Yaozza07,
Which store are you referring to in FESC? Pan West has no stock and MST is going for SGD 480 when I called.
Hi Turbo,
Thanks for the tip. I'll call Golf Simply tomorrow to ask.

| You should be able to get SCs from GD at 420. I wasn't aware that they're selling them at 450. | |

| First Scotty that I bought was in 1993 and it cost me about $300 Usd. So I would say their price has stayed about the same despite the fact they have grown massively and are producing many more units of product. | |

| And an update on this thread...was at FESC earlier and checked out Golf Simply as recommended above. No stock on Newport 2. Eventually got one at SGD 430 at Vinc after offering to pay cash.
Thanks all for the feedback.

| I remember in year 2001 I wanted to buy a scotty putter and that time already around $360 and then I saw a Bettinardi in the same shop, finally I bought the Bettinardi putter at $420.
Now you can see the price only increased less then $100 in a decade.

| Really doubt the regular SC prices increase much..the more valuable ones are limited editions or endorsed by pros etc. I own afew from over the years and the increase is marginal after accounting for regular 3-4% inflation. | |
