New venue for Thailand Open in 2014 - Thana City

Went to Bangkok recently and discovered this nice course just behind the airport. From the airport, it's abt 10-20 mins drive away depending on the traffic. Definitely a great venue upon landing or before going to the airport if got the time. After the game, we discovered that this will hold the Thailand Open in 2014. Apparently the club house and the changing room had just been renovated recently. It's very new. Also they get a great rate for monday tee off as well.

That has been my experience playing in BKK, the courses tend to be flattish

Yes, most bkk courses are generally flat mainly due to most of these lands used to be farm lands but still it's does create some challenges especially it's green are generally in the region of 10

Bro, if u like fast green, I think thana city, lum luk ka and maeng kaew u'll like...all quite fast green.

Actually I don't like slow greens...

Uh... but doesn't mean I like fast greens lah!   10 on stimp meter is fine... anything higher will be challenging for mere mortals like us, but I enjoy seeing the ball rolls true on good greens, not slow bumpy ones...

9 still ok....below 9, the ball machiam like not moving at all need to knock it quite hard. 10 good, 11 is not for the faint hearted. But I don't mind that either I don't like those green when your ball landed hard it just won't sit, like HH......damn hard green.

its the OneAsia event, thailand open. 

this year was also held here and the near winner was Simon Yates on a Zen putter.....
