| Many of you are not shy to speak your mind or short on answers so if you have any suggestions/recommendations per below please reply. Any and all replies sincerely appreciated in advance.
My friend is an avid golfer but still has a tad high HDCP but LOVES the game. She wants her 2 children (5 & 6) to pick up the game but first wants to see if they enjoy learning with a teaching pro before buying 10 lessons only to learn the kids are not keen after the first or second session.
Any ideas, recommended coach for children on a lesson by lesson basis?
Thanks in advance, Cheers, KT

| kindergolf offers free trial lesson, or at least, with a discount. so, i think this is best for trying. juz call up the nearest branch. most places and pros i approached are only willing to take in kids from 7 years old onwards.
but i have tried the first tee though.

| Hi, Perhaps your fren can bring her kids to Uncle Mervyn at Sembawang Country Club driving range on weekends. The young children absolutely adore him and even wears the same red t-shirt as him... He trains junior pros and also coaches kids on a casual basis. 4 lessons at $70. Notwithstanding, your fren can have a word with Mervyn, asking if he can give a very simple "induction" to the kids. That's how i got my young cousins keen on golf I'm sure Mervyn will be happy to oblige. If your fren is "pai say" to ask, i can ask for you. Alternatively, I'm bringing my cousins for their first lessons next weekend. Your fren can come and take a look with her children. I have forgotten his hp no. I can find out and pm you. Hope the info helps. Rgds. | |

Will not share with anyone else. Thanks again and she will be thrilled I am sure with any one of these suggestions. Cheers, KT

| Hi,
The youngest cousin is Primary 2.
BTW, i bumped into Mervyn a while ago, asking him if there's any age limit. By and large, he teaches kids as young as 5-6. He said he would need to see and evaluate the child first before recommending if he/she is suitable to start picking up.

With due respect for KopiO's posting, I personally do not recommend Kindergolf. My kid has been learning from them for over a year and i have recently withdrawn her from the program. Have decided to let her take a break for now.

| Thank you all for your input. I have spoken with fren and told her to SIGN UP on GR and it's all here for her to see. If she doesn't, no worries, I'll pass to her. Though I did mention the Charity Tourney and that got her attention as she is a very warm hearted and caring young lady and wants to do her part for the community.
Cheers, KT | |
