Got to watch some of this live today, Tiger was ON FIRE with his irons! He had a pretty mediocre first 9, but his second 9 (hole 1 - 9 'cause he started on the back) was great. He really had control of his iron play today - hopefully it continues on throughout the week and onto next week at Oak Hill!!

Former world No. 1 Lee Westwood has been without a golf coach since August 2012, when he parted ways with Pete Cowen. Feeling a little lost, Westwood turned to the hottest instructor in the game: Sean Foley. Foley is most notably coach for world No. 1 Tiger Woods, 2013 U.S. Open champion Justin Rose and Hunter Mahan, who contended at Merion deep into Sunday. “The idea of linking up with Sean was to get back to swinging the way I used to,” Westwood said, according to Sky Sports. “I finished with Pete Cowen last August and after so long without a coach I felt I was getting a bit out of sync. So, a couple of weeks ago we had a five-hour session that went really well.” The duo worked on posture and ball position, but it isn’t the first time Westwood has consulted Foley. The Englishman, still in search of his first major, likes the simplicity of Foley’s message. “I’ve spoken to him before, just on a casual basis, and I found what he had to say was pretty simple to follow,” he said. ”That really appealed to me. I don’t want to get overloaded with gimmicky stuff.”

Tiger continued the control of his game today into the 2nd round... ended up with a second round score of 9-under 61, now -13 for the tournament and 7 shots ahead of 2nd place... it was an amazing round, total control with all of his irons and he was really striping the driver today (he's put in the Covert in the bag now!)
Kind of unraveled on the 18th but made a GREAT par saving putt - hope he carries this through into the weekend and into next week at the PGA Championship too!!!
We put together a mini-recap of his round and some photos on our blog here, check it out!

I wonder why he always did well in non-Major championship these days ... Perhaps something gotta do with mental pressure to hit & go beyond the magic number 18 ... He has been on a Major drought since 2008 ...
Lookout people, here he comes ... 66 + 61 with a 7 shots lead entering the weekend rounds ...

He still maintained his 7 shot lead going into final day Now it's a race for 2nd place for other players What a dominating performance
