Hey,
Did anyone watch the tournament?
The Top Two Golfers were missing...Dunno why?
I think they should, in preparation for Augusta.
Round 2 would be more interesting
Ernie Els, Tiger & Hunter Mahan will be playing in one flight.

The Buzz is Back
"Funny thing is, I didn't feel like I hit it all that great, but the misses are better."
Driving Distance 306.0 Driving Accuracy 71.43% GIR 94.44% Strokes Gained - Putting 2.911 Putts Per GIR 1.706 Average Distance to Pin 31' 4" Sand Save Percentage --
He hit all but 1 GIR.
Strokes gained - putting of 2.911 is HUGE.
If he keeps this up, look for the lead increasing and the win is just a matter of time.

I think it was more in some years. I remembered his last british open, he did not even used the driver.

When I woke up at 4 am, Tiger was playing fabulously. Seemed to be hitting every green and sinking everything while his co-leader from day 2, Charlies Wi seemed to be wilting, dropping further and further back. Ah, the familiarity of that all is well feeling. I went about my morning business, checking the TV from time to time.
At one point, by hole 13, Tiger was 4 up over the nearest rival, GMac. I thought, oh Tiger is beginning to pull away from the pack. Then Tiger sent a tee shot which plugged into a fried egg lie in the bunker at Hole 14, and made bogey.
Ok, still 3 up, no problem. Then a bizarre thing occurred.
Tee box at Hole 15. In the middle of Tiger's swing, a woman screamed. Tiger's shot promptly went left, OB.
This is what happened.
5:18 p.m. – According to NBC’s Roger Maltbie a woman at a concession stand about 25 yards away from the 15th tee – oblivious to the competition — screamed during Tiger Woods’ backswing. His ball veered well left, out of bounds, into someone’s back yard. Woods re-teed and then hit his fourth shot from the left rough to 14 feet. He missed the bogey putt, though, so he dropped two shots and now leads Graeme McDowell by just one.
UPDATE: Tiger Woods said he was told that a child fainted which caused the woman to yell. He tried to stop his swing but couldn’t.
This is why Tiger is leading the field by 1 instead of 3.
Hope the baby is ok.
The golfing gods are not going to make it easy just yet. Still got karma to repay. Makes day 4 more exciting as a competition though.
Edit: Subsequent report says it was an 18 year old who passed out, not a baby.

He was more known for his amazing scrambling ability. He could make par/birdie from almost anywhere.
His driver was long, but not accurate, but back then it wasn't a problem. He just had to pick where to miss.
I guess sticking with 3 wood for the Open was to keep it below the wind.
Now that he has to throttle back a few yards to preserve the knee, accuracy is now a premium.

This quote from the PGA tour website article covering the tournament so far caught my eye.
"Woods has such control of his golf ball that he went 35 consecutive holes with a putter in his hand for a birdie attempt."
That's 35 consecutive GIRs. Talk about flawless, that's quite a stretch.

"On the 15th tee, an 18-year-old passed out and a woman screamed when she saw it -- all while Woods was in the middle of his swing. He was too far along to stop, and hooked his tee shot out-of-bounds near a swimming pool."

Whenever I tee off, Mloy talks really loudly and it distracts my drives. I know how Tiger feels.
