So does it mean JDM's quality is always there even tho its not Made in Japan..

Wonder if there is any difference (real vs perceived) in quality between MIJ products or non-MIJ JDM stuff...

On the same vein is there a quality drop of MIJ exported goods not meant for JDM?
Are all MIJ equated with JDM?
Do JDM products need to pass certain stringent quality testing?

I see a lot of low quality stuff sold in those so called $2 or $5 Japan Products shops that are slowly popping up in Singapore and elsewhere....

So before talking about worth, we need to first have a definition of what JDM is. So what is JDM ah?

Could it be that JDM is just another term like TOUR USE ONLY or PROTOTYPE that is used by marketing?

JDM : Japanese Domestic Market

Thus i think it would be confined to products catered for the Japanese market, be it made overseas or conpany owned by foreign. For those who have been to Japan, i'm sure you are familiar with how they are meticulous about quality. So i supposed for them, quality goes hand in hand with price and the price may be right for their high cost of living.

As a noob, I have another question.
Certain Japanese club makers like to associate themselves with Samurai sword making, so my question is, What are the similarities between club head forging and this where a katana is folded repeatedly until it has tens if not hundreds of thousands of layers. We are not going to even discuss grinding, polishing and engraving as these are separate art unto themselves.

LOL! Good one. I'll probably just ask him how he keeps his hair silky and where he gets the balls to dump the most beautiful women on earth. Razz

How's your game bro? Heard Borneo courses are very beautiful, you must be having a very nice time playing at these courses with your ONOFFs. cheers

Courses are alright, can't complain. Other courses within the ASEAN region offers more in terms of facility.

Yep the onoffs are super duper. Soft, forgiving & addictive! all hidden in a medium sized head.

Casio good for short term time telling then after say 5-10 years will self-disintegrate due to the large amount of cheap plastics used.
So Casio good for telling time for maybe only one generation. I hv a fren who bought close to $20k of Swatch watches in the 80s thinking it was a good investment cos finally the Swiss managed to develop a cheap quartz watch to challenge the onslaught of Japanese casios seikos and citizens... Unfortunately after about 6 years of storage they all deteriorated due to UV exposure which is detrimental to plastics....

Patek on the other hand is made of metals (usually gold and steel) and glass and being mechanical doesn't rely on batteries which usually leak and damage internals.
Can be serviced, retimed n reoiled and tell time for long long time and usually passed on as family heirloom from generation to generation, plus appreciate in value too....

$1000 will get me a good second hand set.

$100,000 will get me a cheap set and lots of massages

Patek too high class...not to mention ex.
watches that appreciate in value are usuallg the limited collection..
actually Rolex much cheaper and will also appreciate in value though marginally..

Definitely worth it if its well-fitted. Recently switched from PING to RomaRo and managed an increased distance (10m to 15m) for all my irons. Accuracy better too! But abit less forgiving tho.. But all up a happy golfer! (:

Sounds like the new shafts are making quite a difference.

agreed with Kamen,

I've switched from RomaRo Ray H with TT GS75 to Tity AP2 with Program 80.

It gives me additional 10m for all my irons. Might came from the shaft

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I am keen to look at JDM drivers, i.e. EPON, Maruman Majesty and maybe Akira. Anyone here have experience with these drivers? As short as my drive is, i really need a club that can give me extra distance and I don't care about non-conforming or not since I am just a social hacker.

Thanks bro pocketace and andrew for seeing me so up... But i always have good tailwind and help from buggy track...  Laughing

To be frank, i think the shaft is the one that helped me with the distance.. Was gaming my friend's RF with DI5S and i still feel it gave me better distance than my AF101 leh...
