| Hi everyone,
I have been on a trip down memory lane lately. Just bought myself a set of Hogan Edge GCD Forged 2-AW, 10 clubs. It does not have the usual Hogan number 3 or 4 shaft but this comes with Brunswick FibreMatch Stiff. Ok, if anyone knows what I am talking about will know remember the good old days when golf was simple and fun. No $1000 shafts back then, you either choose steel or graphite. Graphite was also the new in thing then.
Feel free to chime in and bring back the memories. Lets see if we still remember what we used back in the day....
Cheers! | |

| Just bought a set of Lynx Black Cat Tour as well. Can't wait to see if I can still hit them. | |

| I had the Hogan Edge GCD when I picked up the sport. Could not afford the Forged version then. Recently I found then on Ebay, paid under US$300 for the set 2 to E. Don't even know who uses a 2 iron these days. Haha. My golf kaki then could play a round in Keppel without taking out any woods. Just 2 iron to tee off. That was when you knew someone was a good player when he could hit long irons well. | |

| Me! Honma Big LB 3 wood, 2 star S2 flex. Courtesy of Joe Lum of Creative golf. Free gift from him when I complained that my ball flight was getting lower and lower. I was asking him if persimmon was good as I was looking at getting a Louiseville Golf persimmon 3 wood. Joe said" try this, if you can hit it its yours. FOC" Tried it the next day and had a 2 on on a par 5. pure impact that sounded like a crack, the ball took off and just lifted off. I think the trajectory was as high as my wedge although the distance was much longer. Could have sworn the peak height was about the same as my wedge. Sweet feeling when struck pure. | |

| Funny thing was when I was playing a lot of golf and practising a lot, I was not able to hit the Honma persimmon woods. Now that I play less and cannot hit the modern woods with the trajectory that I like, I could hit the Honma. Really baffles me. Guess thats why I have so much gear.... | |

| Haha, I'm in a similar predicament. Always constantly on the lookout for that rare minty set from a very different era before. | |

| Yes, my 1st set of golf irons was given to me by a japanese colleague. His dad pass him the hogen edge, i have since pass it on to another friend. But i still keep the 2 iron which was rare. Now using it at home to do my swing. Yes, quite easy to hit when i started learning. | |

| I am still searching for something that works. Something that I can just pull out of the bag and hit it and the ball goes long and straight. I had a few sets of irons that were like that, get the distance, put it on, as if on auto pilot. Same for the driver, down the fairway or slightly off the fairway but always in play. Then the fairway woods that you could depend on when you are about 200 to 210m away fromt he green, you knew they will get you close. I had all those but somehow backside itchy and upgraded to the latest and greatest new model. If I have just used what I had back then, I could have been a very very good golfer. Changes in equipment really screw up my game. | |
