Why not, after Day 1, he is +1...

Somebody has his Stats?

Like how far he drives and hit his irons etc?

Who are his sponsors etc??

Think he averages around 250 yards with his drives
But according to media reports he is dead accurate with hybrids
He even made birdies
According to Ben Crenshaw who played with him, his soft touches around the greens was his saving grace

Well done. When he grows up and bulk up, we see how his game is like then
Now he is work in progress...

I was amazed! +1 for an amateur is not easy. Let's hope he keeps up his form. The Masters is not just about playing well but having a steady and solid mental game. That's where winners are separated from everyone else.

Wa... looks like rojak to me.. Wonder, why Nike or Callaway have not signed him up yet...

Too young too sign as we never know what could happen to his focus or injuries . but he has already a great swing and short game . The next 4 -6 year are crucial to play as much pro event and hit the gym . then we see if he is the next rory or tiger woods. he still not the number 1 amateur , i think sponsor might wait he crack up the top 10 amateur ranking to sponsor him as equipment based. you can't earn money when an amateur except by the back door .

he's quite someone to watch right here. if he can keep his focus until masters finished, i think he will be having sponsors soon enough. although i dont think its gonna be big brand sponsor

The kid was penalized 1 stroke for slow play

Now he completed his round at +4, this is just at the cut line projected... On the bubble!

One of the comments under the YouTube video here is that he has a very flat swing plane, and that is good. Why is a flat swing plane good? I thought it should be relative to your body angle?

@Graeme_McDowell: What message are we trying to send out to the world giving the 14 yr old kid a shot penalty today? It was a 6 hr round. Why single him out?

The way he handles questions from Tom Rinaldi hints at maturity way beyond his years - to-the-point, adds his personal view, and is non-committal on everything else.

He already sounds like some young prodigy who made it to number one not long ago.

Probably it is because he is Chinese playing on American soil?? Somehow, they have to find something to make it you ain't so good after all. If not, why him? Many golfers were taking more than 45 secs too..

He will learn along the way as he prepare to enter the world as a professional golf. He has potential. Hope he will not end up like Michelle Wie when she was promoted as a teenage golf prodigy and compared with TW.
