| As new golfer, just want to share my lessons learnt throught the years with beginners in the forum... After your golf training and watching plenty of Tips and drill videos on Youtube. You should know there are too many swing techniques to learn for a proper swing. You might also realise too many swing problems to correct as well (provided you can find them ). But one thing you really need to know, Golf is the most difficult game I have played ever. nobody has the prefect swing, even Tiger Wood still changed his swing recently. Need to have patience and do one thing at a time. So which one to start first? for me Rhytem is the most important thing in the golf swing. Without Rhythm, you will never have good swing.. even look at those Pros from TV, their swings are all different, but they all have very good swing rhythm, so the good impact and club head release become with natural things... the ball will fly straight like arrow. Just my 2 cents.. enjoy golfing. Cheers... | |

| I always have a good swing rhythm until I place a ball in front of my haha.... Need to get aways from the 'hit the ball' mentality. | |

| My thought is....stay away from all the online videos and not try to learn from the pros on TV. Just listen to your coach.
Online instructions offers so much tips, techniques and methods (with all their merits) but which beginners cannot differentiate from. Instead one will just confuse yourself and get all the different swing methods into your own swing and screw everything up.
Only when you reach a certain level of proficiency then you can study each swing methods and incorporate what works for you.
It's hard to resist cos everybody goes through this stage when first picking up the game and passionately combing all the videos in a bid to aspire to swing like a pro.
I learn the hard way and still trying to eradicate the bad habits picked up.
Just my thoughts.

| Practice Rhythm method! Practice makes perfect Jokes aside, one golf tip I read to develop a rhythm is to recite in your head "Arnold Palmer" from the time you takeaway till you strike the ball and get into a finish position | |

For high HC golfer like me, need to swing slow to feel the rhythm. all the bad shots come from the "fast swing". at least it is for my case. Even those pros practicing in driving range, they also swing slow to get their rhythm right.

| Like to also add that personally I found watching PGA golf does more harm than good to your swing rhythm haha... The likes of Rory, Tiger and Rickie are pros and they simply swing at a speed we cannot attain.
A good video from youtube I found was the pratice swing of Ai Miyazato. So relaxed and easy. She also doesnt start punching driver at full speed. Seems like she will start slow, get the tempo and rhythm, then gradually increase her swing speed.

| Well, i have to disagree with you guys on this. Well half disagree.
You will feel the benefits of having good rhythm, only when you have in-grained the proper fundamentals. Eg. Set-up, gripping, backswing, takeaway, etc etc.
Asking a beginner with no proper fundamentals, to be 'rhythmic', is as good as asking him or her to lift club up and down on the ball.
