Have been Receiving spam calls from weird numbers

Have anyone of you been receiving spam calls from numbers like these here : 840034, +6500, +401, +6500, +4044. ? For the past week I have been receiving from these numbers and when I answered it just stays silent and will clicked off after about 10-20 seconds. Even my maid also have this problem. I have check with Starhub and apparently they don't have any feature to block such calls. Does anybody knows if IPhone 4 have any feature to block these numbers direct? I am getting very irritated by it and going out of my mind. Anybody got any suggestions to help to rid this? Thought of making police reports if there is no way to stop it.

Some may even take money. My bills shot up to few hundreds when I answered those calls. Luckily was able to bring it back to my normal fee $40 if not that will be like 2 months of pocket money. Best is to not answer!

Tks guys. I think it is a scam. They may somehow or other hacked your acct and make you to lose money somehow. Will not touch it anymore. Better warn the maid about it.

If somehow or other my acct got charged for this calls, I am going to screw Starhub up. As provider they must do something about it. They just don't care.

Singtel too. I normally dun pick up such calls. Did someone mentioned boby contours? Gosh, dun get me started with BC again. Really hate this company.

I also kenna charged for nothing when I picked up the calls ... The extra charges were $100 ++. I lodged a complain to Singtel and they eventually waived the charges. Singtel's Customer Svc staff claimed that it is a 3rd party premium service. OMG!

Answering the call means rendering the 3rd party service?!?!?
I always thought answering incoming calls is free leh..

So you Do not pick up any calls that does not display number or those you see with +6, +006 etc.
Once you picked up only, kena charged liao

I think the trick is to force you to call those numbers back whereupon you are charged an arm, a leg and a kidney to do so. What I do is just to block those numbers on my phone. But if you can't do that, ignore 'em and move on. There are lots of scammers out there and they all deserve to suck gonads.

I share my own solution to the Android phone users.

I created an account in my phone book (I called it SPAM)
I added all these funny numbers into this account (one account, mulitple numbers)


then i set that for calls coming from this account, it goes automatically to my voice mail (I do not have a voice mailbox).

works perfectly fine for me.!!!!

I kenna calls from number like +111111111 before. all never pick up for fear of incurring ridiculous charges
