2013 event

Anyone know what is happening with this year's event?

We all know it's off the European tour but the tournament calendar still shows a couple of vacant slots, one in early may the other in mid August

Anyone heard anything to suggest the Singapore open will be reinstated in one of these windows? Also who is the new sponsor?

Latest rumour puts it to a leading Malay bank being the new sponsors.

I think there is no governing body to look into golf and promote it. It will not increase tourism $, unless someone is willing to pay high appearance fee to bring in World No. 1. Chicken and egg situation again.

It is definitely NOT an insult to local Banks and Corporate, it should be a wake up call that others are willing to step up when the locals are not!
