| I have both bracelet and necklace, wearing them more as accessories. If you happen to be in Japan, or US, buy there, cheaper than SG | |

| I discovered phiten only 6 months ago and since then I am ho ing all their stuff.
What happened was I sprained my back during a game at changi. I was trying to cheong last hole navy and ball was slightly below feet. One turn and felt something stretched beyond tolerance level on lower back. Thought I was going to kiss my golf good bye for 3 months.
So I went to sensei n koyoh applied. Not much improvement. Then I happened to come across the phiten shop in taka. They totally sold me on the demo with 2 1.5 litres water bottles. (Lift the 2 bottles with fingers with phiten bracelet no pain in finger joints, try again without bracelet and u will feel the pain)
I applied the x30 tape and would you believe I was able to play golf the next week?
I introduced my best buddy n he too felt relieve from his neck aches.he is a doctor n is completely baffled why this works.

| these titanium bracelet or necklace are good for blood supply they said. i dont know if it is only marketing gimmick, but some people gave their testimonies that it really work. some said after riding motorbike for too long, they felt a little cramp on their hand, after wearing these titanium stuff, cramp is gone.
well i think its best to do some warm up or stretching before games.

| I have tried peer reviewed literature search and all i could find is this abstract from a paper written in 2001. A historical perspective of the popular use of electric and magnetic therapy Jeffrey R. Basford, MD, PhD From the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Mayo Clinic and Foundation, Rochester, MN. http://dx.doi.org.proxy-um.researchport.umd.edu/10.1053/apmr.2001.25905, How to Cite or Link Using DOI Permissions & Reprints Abstract Basford JR. A historical perspective of the popular use of electric and magnetic therapy. Arch Phys Med Rehabil 2001;82:1261-9. Objectives: To review the history of the therapeutic use of static electric and magnetic fields and to understand its implications for current popular and medical acceptance of these and other alternative and complementary therapies. Data Sources: Comprehensive MEDLINE (1960[ndash ]2000) and CINAHL (1982[ndash ]2000) computer literature searches by using key words such as electricity, magnetism, electromagnetic, therapy, medicine, EMF, history of medicine, and fields. Additional references were obtained from the bibliographies of the selected articles. In addition, discussions were held with curators of medical history museums and supplemental searches were made of Internet sources through various search engines. Study Selection: Primary references were used whenever possible. In a few instances, secondary references, particularly those requiring translations of early texts, were used. Data Synthesis: The use of electric and magnetic forces to treat disease has intrigued the general public and the scientific community since at least the time of the ancient Greeks. The popularity of these therapies has waxed and waned over the millennia, but at all times the popular imagination, often spurred by dynamic and colorful practitioners of pseudoscience, has been more excited than the medical or political establishment. In fact, a pattern seems to reappear. In each era, unsophisticated public acceptance is met first with medical disdain, then with investigation, and, finally, with a failure to find objective evidence of efficacy. This pattern continues today with the public acceptance of magnetic therapy (and alternative and complementary medicine in general) far outstripping acceptance by the medical community. Conclusion: The therapeutic implications of applying electrical and magnetic fields to heal disease have continually captured the popular imagination. Approaches thousands of years apart can be remarkably similar, but, in each era, proof has been lacking and the prevailing medical establishment has remained unconvinced. Interest persists today. Although these agents may have a future role in the healing of human disease, their history and a minimal scientific rationale makes it unlikely that the dichotomy between the hopes of the public and the medical skepticism will disappear. Here is a link to a class action lawsuit against Phiten; http://www.classaction.org/phiten-necklaces-and-bracelets.html And another interesting link: http://scienceline.org/2008/10/ask-fox-phiten-necklace/ So as a rather skeptical chemistry teacher, I would say these things are a con. But you may be experiencing a placebo effect, so if it makes you feel good, buy it. p.s. Instead of Phiten, I have some magical string that may (no scientific evidence) improve your golf swing if you wear it around your wrist during a full moon and dance naked around a wicker man ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wicker_man ) with a nubile virgin chanting "Rory is the reincarnation of the devil". Yours for only $99.99 | |

Any bro out ther tried? Does it really works?
Or its just all in the mind thing
Pls advise
TIA 1. practice for wrong thing for pain 2. definitely NOT "age" and have to be lousy swing 3. HEALING takes time, god rest and good stretching would help. The magnetic field and frequency would not help you snap back the joints or muscle . HOW? 4. U need magnet? marker, .. oh even moon cake boxes also have, else go to hardware store, sure have. Titanium .. buy a old ti driver for 20 cut up the face, sure more ti powder than the few hundred $ product. 5. Mind thing, U decide, works? Be nice BUY some and let the old man or lady try out at the morning exercise park. OK cut the bulls, go to 2 other important person in your golf life 1. club fitter 2. REAL SWING pro. 1. club fitter, - why? Your clubs have to be balanced. from driver all way down to wedges. Dont go to so call pro shop to buy, U Need To Be Fitted. THEN U have your swing to worry only. 2. REAL swing pro, no man build alike, the REAL will custom U to your body to swing and optimize the power The most important part is not to get INJURY. DO YOU PEOPLE KNOW TTS HOSPITAL PROVIDE THIS SERVICE???? Pick your choice.

how does a club fitter help prevent injury by "balancing" the clubs? What is club balancing? I agree there are some shafts that might have more "shock absorbing" properties, but other than that, how does club fitting help with regards to injury prevention? Maybe lighter clubs for the golfer who does not have sufficient physical strength? But more than that, I think being in good physical condition, and proper swing mechanics help more than anything else.

| Actually you sure it's back pain? not just muscle ache? because if just muscle aches, it's normal because you are using part of your muscles u never used before. See a doctor if the pain don't subside within 1-2 days.
Someone said before, you don't play golf to get fit, u must be fit to play golf.
Anyway, stuff like phiten are mainly for stress and fatique.

| enwee, that is very true. It takes two seconds to swing a club, a lifetime of preparation to setup to it. Sometimes need to sell equipment to join a gym too. - enwee wrote:

now , I see that U need glasses "Ssquirrel" . Get a balanced set of club and engage a REAL swing pro . That is what I stated . U wanna believe, be my guest. I give a honest advise and you choose to spend on NICE toys, for all I care. How would you determine lighter shaft? What physical condition we are talking about? ???? Professional also got their club fitted, they also go to their trainers for physical conditioning and also have a swing coach. You might be the few lucky person that dont need fitting. Sorry bro, if fitting not of your choice, and you are playing good. Good luck to you.
