remove the headcovers (if u have) and air the clubs to prevent moisture buildup.... hi slinger, a friend who has just started golf just bought a set of RBZ iron, and there's a booklet that says not to put the clubs in the trunk of a car. and he asked me why? i don't see why not so i told him that no problem putting the clubs in the car trunk as long as it is inside the golf bag, coz thats what i do too. my question is: if the clubs are inside the golf bag, does it still affect the shaft? thanks

- hi guys n hi chien.
is quite easy to see a new or use shaft. New graphite shaft, the tip of the shaft is not shaver out n should be about 45inch in raw b4 cutting. same as for steel shafts for irons. the tip of the shaft is the grind n normally about 2 inch more b4 cutting.
Driver graphite shaft normally last about 8000 to 12000 hits, also depends on ur swing swing.
if each time when u reshaft a driver, is better to check the Fq when is new. then after 6 months of playing it, check again to see how much Fq has been drop. I would guess dropping at about 15fq , is consider soften n might start hooking or slicing away.
A driver shaft do wore out the fasters. compare to others. More local pros that plays in the tour circiut, do change their shaft about once a month, anyway they are sponsered.
hope u understand better.
Thanks n cheers
Did some calculations, assuming we played 2 rounds a wk, so generally the shaft can last abt 5-6 years?

| HI enwee.
To last for about 5 to 6 years?? well it all depends. Acordding to what i had learn from Harrison Shaft in US when i was there for training. They say that a driver shaft could easyly last about 3 years. also depending on how much you play, if like 2 round per week plus driving range, a good 2 years will be alright. after that you should try n check it out how much fq have drop from the first time the shaft was change. very subjecting too depends on the quality of the shaft. Using a Fq machine can help to check if the flex of the shaft is still alright. just to enjoy ur golf sometimes the shaft can last about 4 years as long as the tip dont give way. only is that a consistent direction might not be there. few time i had customers comes to me when their driver shaft was more the 8 years n still going strong. well i can say that is good for them n still they dont want to change. just go to any certified fitting shop and check ur shaft Fq every 3 months. once it drop more then 12 cpm, is soften liao. just slow down ur swing speed n still can use.
i will ask some friends in US about shaft,s life. see what they update me and i will try n update here.
Thanks so ur kind attention
Enjoy ur golf | |

my question is: if the clubs are inside the golf bag, does it still affect the shaft? thanks as long as the car is sheltered, its not a problem... if its not, i dun think its good for the epoxy n the shaft... have u try touching the trunk of your car on a sunny day?? whether its in a bag is irrelevant, cos its still pretty hot inside.... then again, its just me cos i like to think i take good care of my clubs...
