| Hi guys,
Wondering if anyone of you have tried this. I was trying to remove the weights in my Sea mist sonoma, when i realised that the weights cannot be removed!!! I have easily removed the weights from my studio select putter, but the weights in the sea mist seem to be stuck on. Fyi, i'm using a proper wrench designed for scotty weights.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

| Luke you need to use some heat at the right place to loosen the bond of the thread lock adhesive....
a home hair dryer will not work.
hope it helps...... | |

| every half inch shorter takes off 3 swing weight...cutting off an inch means you would have lost 6 swing wieghts. assuming you are using the same grip or similar. the theory of swing weight is like a see-saw except the fulcrum is not right in the middle but at about the 1/3 mark nearer to the butt. (please do not confuse this with the balance point of the putter.... if its the balance point, then there will be no swing weight)
to compensate you can add 12 g on the head or use a light grip. however for 6 swing weight you have to find a grip thats 27 g lighter which is not likely to happen. also the reduce total weight will throw the putter off balance. therefore logically, adding 12 g is still the best option.
hope it helps.......DGman

| Thanks Eric. I am looking at the sc chart now. For 32" Lighter - 20g weights(C3-C5) Standard- 25g weights(C8-D0) Heavier - 30g weights(D3-D5) Does it cost the same for all weights? If I m replacing them, should i might as well get the 30g? I m now on 20g. Thanks Ps. If the price is sensitive, appreciate if u can pm me. Thanks. | |

| Hi Eric, I tried adding 10g(i.e. total 50g to make it standard) and 20g(i.e. total 60g to make it heavier). Now I am all confused between the 3 weight configurations. Do you have any advice for me? Thanks | |

| thats a new one and innovative too but the weight is too low and it will change your vertical sweet spot. also you may also need to hover higher to clear the taped "weight" hence your putter will feel really funny. nothing beats putting in the desired weight. hope it helps...... | |

| i did 2 10g sets & tape it on top. Hoping that it will help me figure out what weights to buy. End up i am now all confused between the three weight configurations. My putts usually end up short, would you recommend a lighter/heavier putter? Thanks for your advice & Merry Christmas | |

| when you putt short it usually means you are thinking about making a stroke when you are putting. the best way to train your distance senses is look at the target continuously while you are making the putt.
golferrs are afraid to do that but its the best way to train your senses. can you imagine a badminton player looking at his racket or a bowler looking at his ball (the big one) or a player looking at his darts.
try it and you may not even need any weight.
