Golf apps on iphone/android

Hi Guys, have been looking at golf apps. There are scorecard apps and there are GPS apps and even golf rule apps. I just downloaded a few but yet to use them.

Anyone using such apps? any feedback or useful apps you would like to share?

I would recommend V1 Golf.
Shows you the swings of some Pros.
Even lets you take a video of yourself and you can draw some planes to measure where you stand.

It is not free in iOS though just to note.

Golfshot GPS works for me. But gotta wait for iTunes Store sale which happens from time to time since it's not the cheapest app out there.

Upgrade for comparison of swings, worth the try!

I'm using Swing by Swing golf. Gives you yardage to flag, and also lay up distances if you don't wish to attack the flag. It also records your stats like GIR, total putts, etc.
But it requires internet data apart from GPS, thus not so good if you play in at an overseas course.

Last weekend when playing here in Mauritius, in the other golf cart in my flight, this S African lady golfer (she is a 10 hcp btw) had Golfshot on her iPad and she uses a bicycle bungee rubber cord to hook the iPad behind the golf cart steering wheel

She has real time yardage when she drives to her ball. I'm very tempted to do the same when I'm back in Sg....

Well, if you are using golfshot on your hp, then your fellow flightmates will be wondering why are you always looking at the phone.

On iphone 4, battery can probably last you 9 holes.
But for iphone 5, it has lasted me 18 holes, tracking my every club hit, scores + distance. Really useful, and when you have internet connection again, everything is then synced online!

She used iPad. Lasted the whole round!
