| Played 2 rounds with this man who's already lost his hair.. He's not big size, nor is he a weight lifter like many of the guys here.. His drive is normal, 220-230m maybe... At times behind me, the most same distance.. His woods... Normal too.. Just straight... So I thought, no big deal, especially after watching Tourswing's par 5 two ons.. But, this two rounds taught me more stuff than the past few weeks.. While I kept tinkering to find more distance etc.. Changing balls.. Changing drivers etc etc This man excels in departments we often overlooked... His irons are sharp, almost always birdie chance.... His putting flawless... Think he only putted 30 today ? So what did I learn from this old man today? It's not how long you drive.. Not how hard you hit your woods... But how consistent and sharp you play to the pin.. Even for the long par 4 or 5, he was always going for pars... I think many of us should just watch him play and learn how this man does what matters most.. Always putting the ball in play, making no silly mistakes, if can't reach, try to chip in or get aways with a par.. That's golf ! And a new inspiration to me ! My outmost respect to Capt.. Andrew Low! | |

| Bro Chien, actually to on with an iron, driver has to be like what u say 220m to 230m. (and have to be relatively straight) Else if u play blue wth an ave of 369m par 4, it is very hard to hit approach with an iron if u drive less than 200m. U agree?
So for short hitter like me who ave 180m off the tee, I am still searching for additional 30m to my drive so I can use iron for 2nd shot rather than hybrid or wood.
Actually, another person who play like what u describe is Slinger. He makes golf look so simple.

Hi Skybobo ... why not be like me and play off the white tees? Enjoy the game while working on a longer term solution to increase driving distance ... I used to average 180m with good drives 200m, I know a lot of the guys here and my friends would laugh at my little girl's swing speed, but playing from the white helped me enjoy the game and gave me confidence. Also allowed me to use irons more often as well, if not every Par 4 the same, driver, hybrid, wedge ... touch the irons only on Par 5s (cos Par 3 also hybrid) About 3-4 months ago I found some extra distance, but I've now lost it again and have no idea how to get it back, so I guess I'm back to officially being a short hitter again. I'll switch back to white tees for now, and hopefully when I can get some time with my coach or to practice, I'll be able to manage blue tees again. If you have not read the thread below ... browse through it for a quick laugh http://www.golfrepublic.org/t16555-clarion-call-join-the-short-hitters-club-shic-today?highlight=SHic Even though Capt is not short at 220-230 for average golfers, for golfers of his standard he is definitely not long, and yet he can take them to the cleaners. Likewise for Golfool when he is on his game. Something that we can all aspire to. I have only seen Capt swing indoors, but the grouping (both left-right and long-short) of his iron and wedges shots are very impressive. FYI, Golfool is resident Team Captain of SHiC and Capt And_Low is resident Patron

| Thank u bro Derek. Actually I enjoy playing white tees. Last time when my hcp is above 18, I used to play white and recorded mostly mid to high 80s.
Then when my hcp go lower, my buddies insist on playing blue leh. Frankly I really like white.
When u play, call me leh. Then we play white together

But seriously lah ... distance disappeared again ... now I think back to 130-135 for 7i ... driver back to 190-200
settling into new country so no chance to swing anything ... tempo felt very out ... hopefully it will come back after a few range sessions

Capt.. I have already gone thru the mid life crisis with the sc430 2 years back.. Think you are a bit late at this age... I know a lot have been discussed about how to drive the drivers, how far to hit the 7i etc.... But very few actually paid attention to what you have repeatedly demonstrated on the courses like today... That was an ultimate sheer beautiful round of golf Capt ! p/s: this little aspires to be a wild boar on 7 nov...

Hi there, though I do not know you personally, nor have I the opportunity to golf with you, I can only think of good things about you having read all the postings. The new S5 is a nice car, but IMHO, very humble opinion, the previous S5 V8 model had more character to it than the present model if I may say so. I drove the S5 V8 for a year plus before selling it, it was a great drive. My golf may not be as sharp as many people here, but if you like to chat about cars, I am more than keen to share a coffee and chat.

currently #1 is Slinger, #2 is S70B, #3 SBH, #4 Jimmychoo and #5 MC
ok ok....#5 stick out like a sore thumb....but I was reckless during my early golf-hood ....was impressed with his power drives...

| haha... for all you folks that have been fooled thus far...
my god father is one golfer tht i do not mess with...
for all my 300m drives, 160m 7i, 100m LW....
i always hesitate to play him...
i'm not scared of how long he might hit, i'm not even scared of how sharp he might be...
what scares me the most is his FOCUS!!!
this is why, he is my only idol... cos i'm not the sorta guy to respect ppl much... if at all...
